what is the best gps for trucks is rand mcnally ay good

Maps and the grey thing between your ears is are the two best GPS units there is. Store bought GPS's are additional tools the two previous units can use to help naivigate. One thing to remeber about store bought GPS's is they rely on satilites (sp). When there is a major solar storm that is headed our way the SATs will most likely be turned off to keep them from being fried. They still might get fried and will be useless till the GPS people get new sats in orbit.

 

Have the TND710. Happy with it for the most part so far. It does have lots of nice extra features. Overall, good buy for me.

yEPPER, I've had my rand mcnalley 22 yrs, it works perfectly and I get a little exercise turning the pages.

 

I have a TND 700 that I bought 2 years ago and I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER ONE! Did i say that loud enought. After a year just before a long trip it went out. Battery issue. Send back, get a new one. A year later--out it goes. So we are told that they won't replace because they already did once.
Nice, a 500 dollar unit that only lasts a year. Kinda expensive if you ask me.
I did enjoy the features, esp the which lane you need to be in to get on/off roads.
But I am really disgusted with customer service. You should want to have a product that is sturdy enought for use in a truck. I have a 100 dollor Garman that is still working, it's just doesn't have a large screen.
Does Garman make a 7" screen?
