The public sector pension was paid into at A rate higher than that paid into Social Security. The pension remains intact regardless of the circumstances under which you were dismissed. I was told that " I did not project the image that the New Organization wished to project" . The director spoke publicly of the " fresh faces of educated, professional young women" being the new look , the wave of the future. I was not the only that had their position eliminated , later to be filled by A more suitable " yuppie " type individual. In our " employee at will " state" all possible. Proving gender or age discrimination is nearly impossible for A caucasion male. Legal counsel I retained admitted that no doubt I was discriminated against , but the time and expense required to prove it made pursuit of the issue impracticle. If you have never worked in an all female environment it would be difficult to understand. Sleeve

I reckon if trucking companies would treat their drivers like the drivers treat the load, they wouldn't have to worry about something bad being written here about them. But for most companies, we are just a piece of meat....
bigjoel Thanks this. -
How right you are my friend.German Hammer-Rhoid and lonelyswmtrucker Thank this.

Did you know DAC is nothing more than a private company that makes money selling driver information? They are in no way government affilliated. I would write them a nasty letter to get their facts straight.

I carry a camera also-but only photo bad parts of some trailers. I once saw a yard spotter completely rip a door off our trailer after it was unloaded. He didn't know I was watching and just dropped it like nothing happened. After they loaded me, I told the shipper inside, and as you can guess the spotter never called in his mishap. Can you imagine what would happen to the driver who dropped it off in good shape?

YeaH!
A missing trailer door would be easy for a Big truck truck driver to overlook durin' an inspection. Probably wouldn't even notice one door missin' 'till unloaded and away from the dock to find only one door to swing closed.
Odds are that there are some drivers who still wouldn't notice.
"How can I take a picture of the door if it was missin'?

Never lost A door but did bring A tail gate back to the shop on the floor of my coal bucket. On A scrap metal backhaul I had rearranged the hinge pins to " barn door " style opening to dislodge the tangled sheet metal load. The top hinge was loose preventing the gate from closing far enough to secure it. A friendly track magnet guy lifted it for me A " little bit " and the " chewing gum " aluminum weld broke. The casualty was brought home in the bed chained to the nose corner steps. My boss, the owner paid me A compliment saying " only A loose cannon like you could break the tail gate off A trailer" . I told him it twerent' nuthin' , easy as pie ! From the welds on the hinges it appeared that it had been done before . Ol' Jon lied A lot. His equipment was 15 years old and the Good Lord only knows the number of drivers that had operated these treasures. As is so common, if anything wears out , has to be adjusted or replaced , it's " driver abuse , driver neglect , driver this and that " . Hell , if drivers didn't get in the trucks they would last an eternity ! LOL ! I had A Mack tractor , 460 engine , 18 speed .......... the clutch had to be replaced and the old one , pretty well worn was on the floor next to the tractor. The boss pointed to the parts and said " see that " ? I said yep. A clutch and pressure plate. He said " see how worn they are ? " YOU don't " pre-select " . I said Jon , you've been reading again. The parts are " consumables " , tires, brakes , lighting components , clutch discs etc. all eventually need replacement. I rarely use the clutch in A truck . On A 13 or 18 speed I do when changing range and gear. 9 speed , 10 speed ..... only from A dead stop and sometimes when fully loaded, and then only enough to break torque enough to get into neutral. Jon never drove A loaded truck on the road , but was certain that any maintenance expense incurred was the fault of A careless, ignorant driver. We parted company after that episode. The mechanic , in private , said that it was A scene he had witnessed countless times over the years. Sleeve

Let's see if I have this right, --- if Big truck truck drivers don't get in those Big trucks they'll last an eternity? ShuX HowdY Sleeve, ya reckon information like that could put the Big truck truckin' companies betwixt a rock and a hard place? I mean, presented with the choice of lasting an eternity or to continue drivin' a Big truck knowin' that doin' so will eventually be the death of 'em, how many Big truck truck drivers would hang up their drivin' gloves and live happily ever after, for eternity?
No doubt there'd be quite a few who would find it impossible to just walk away. They've got diesel in their blood and feel naked when they're not in a Big truck somewhere betwixt shippin' and receivin'. To know that their tuckin' daze would be over for eternity just might be too much for them to handle, so they'd pass up eternity near the top as they went downhill.
Say what?
You weren't?
OH!
The Big truck would last an eternity, --- not the driver?
Hmmmmmmm
Well, ...... in that case, ........ never mind.

Its just honest info,right
-
That all depends.
Info is info regardless if it's right or left, but either way
info ain't always correct.
Reader beware.
If it sounds too fantastic to be true, it's probably right.
If it sounds right, it's likely left.
Then, there are posts like mine that make no sense whatsoever.
At any rate, ---
