Red, ain't that the truth! When I was on the greyhound to memphis for BTC, we had a stop off in nashville where 5 guys were going to Western, and they were the most filthy, disgusting, obnoxious people..They looked like strait up hobo's. And the whole way there, they were sharing their own crash and accident stories.. everything from " I rolled her tryin to do 70 on a U-turn type off ramp" to " i didn't know not to slam on the brakes on a snowed over icy road, and ended up in the ditch"

I find it strange when someone says a company will do whatever they can to make sure you don't hit bonus levels when the company makes MORE money if you do...The more their trucks are moving, the more they're making and to think they don't want their trucks moving is silly to me...

I was there for 3 months after my DM couldnt get me home for easter weekend I brought them there truck back to the terminal and the big old long paragraph of stuff he says is true including the ultra predictable hometime quote in there ad they are horrible and dont want to route you home there recycle rate of drivers is horrible

i don't know who your dm was. i have had no problem getting home when i request it, i normally ask atleast 2 weeks in advance and remind them before the day. of course i live in pa by allentown. and as far as the crappy drivers EVERY company has them, and the ones going to western most won't make it past the orientation. if they do western will take $200 out of their training checks. not all of us western drivers are like that.

It might depend on where you live.
I lived right next to the 15 and the Nestle water accounts going to the mountain states seemed to be the majority of their freight.
Cabazon-to-Denver 80% of the time I was there and I was normally able to roll by my folks place to pick things up and such.

I was let go from there back in November for some "non-accident" reasons, but I'm currently looking into getting back on with them if possible by this week.
The last two companies I was previously with ran entirely different than what I got used to and I like a little familiarity in my diet.

As for the OP, sorry it's not working out for you there.
If the 5-corridor is what you prefer(I don't with a passion, but to each their own), then like the other poster said, plenty of different outfits that run that stretch.

I went to their orientation and when I asked about any deductions-they side-stepped the question-this made me suspicious. Also, had about 15 in orientation and thought that was a lot per week-made me more suspicious. Told them I was not interested-told me to find my own way back home-I did.
