Anybody care to explain in more detail(s) as to how to go about the selection process for your team mate?
Been told the would try to match me up after training, but not sure if there are other(possibly better)avenue's available?
Thanks -
Newbie here and 1st post...I am very curious about how they match up teams also. Schneider just announced a $7000 sign-up bonus ($12,000 split for experienced!) for new teams coming into Schneider. That would be split, but that's still awesome! I'm interested in finding someone I might be compatible with to consider this.
Apparently if Schneider does the pairing, you don't get the bonus though.

Oh, by the way, I'm in Colorado, north of Denver (that would be my home terminal). I'm happily married, 3 kids, non-smoker, don't drink and never did drugs. Would be interested in potential of teaming with like minded individual.

Arch,
Many people come to Schneider as a team, from the start.
Otherwise, the only selection process I am aware of is done by drivers.
We have a website accessible to employees that allow you to list yourself, and view the list for potential partners. -
From what I've seen Schneider will look at smoking prefrences only when matching teammates and leave the rest up to the drivers. Come in with a teammate or try to find ine un orientation is your best bet imo.

Back in the day when I was running team for Schneider we where running around 8,000 miles a week as a team. That was with a paper log, a 68mph truck, and they weren't as picky about things as they are now.
What you can expect as a new team without any experience is 5,000 to 5,600 a week.
I'm not sure what the base pay is now but it's probably 27- 29 cpm. Then you get 5cmp for running team, 2cpm for safety, and another 2cpm for running over 60k miles in a quarter.
so for a gross weeks pay your looking at a minimum of $940 a week without pushing hard at all.
With a little experience 6500 to 7000 miles a weeks is very doable as a team.
The equipment as far as a tractor will be pretty good.
If your going to work team and you want a dedicated account do not take a run that has multiple stops. Every time your partner bumps a dock your going to wake up.
Schneider isn't a bad company to work for depending on what yard your out of. It's a good place to get experience and in some cases it can be an acceptable career choice.felistigris, SawJaw and mileagemax Thank this. -
Thanks danc694u! Your currently with Schneider, apparently. If that website you mention is accessible by employees, how do I get a look at it or post on it...where is it even?

Schenider is decient for teams.
My wife and I teamed there and they kept us moving. We could of really kept moving if we wanted to. She was making .32mi and I was making .39 mile. We were 6000mi a week as a truck easy. Going east to west on the I10 corodor. Easy truckin.. Going from distribution center to warehouse and vise versa. Easy truckin.
The tractor is "luck of the draw". We got put in a white Columbia. It was a decient rig. We lost a cylinder in allentown, pa. Our home terminal was in Indianapolis IN so they put us in a rental car and drove to Indy to p/u a Cascaidia. It was a great rig as well.
When you end their training / orientation.. If they have a team truck ready at your Home Terminal you will get that.
I dont think we had to wait on a load more then 4 hours. I mean we were pre planed like none other. And if we got someplace early and were going to sit a while, they would put us on aother load to keep us going.
Overall a good experience.
Good Luck.tna, SawJaw, mileagemax and 1 other person Thank this. -
