its the same at Jamesburg NJ wakefern... appointment time 8am you get in at 10am.. cant win....the bays look like they were made for small trucks only one spot to swing around but if switcher parks trailers their your backing blind side and the lumpers wow... i pulled a load of candy that took almost 4 hours to unload and sort...think it was 10 pallets broken down to 28.. lumper fee was $230.. maybe i need to sell my truck and open a lumper service... unload 4 to 5 trucks a day and your made.... I also herd that the lumper sevice has to give the company a percentage of the fee...

I've been to the one in Breiningsville PA. It's cool that they have overnight parking, but I don't like the idea of them taking my pic.

We try not to take loads going to Wakefern in Elizabeth, Carteret, Dayton or East Brunswick and when we do we ask for a surcharge for the harassment--took chips there for a year and never got unloaded in less than 3 hours

im nearing the end of my flatbed local gig that ive been at for 5 years and starting up with a private contractor who specifcally hauls for wakefern/shoprite. grocery is 50 cents a mile all miles. 15 a stop. home daily. milk loads are paid diffirent dependant on wear ur going. im used to getting unloaded fast in a flatbed and not having to dock. this new gorcery #### should be a headache for a few days. but flatbed/building materials is ####### dead. i need to work more then 3 days a week!@

Woow I thought I was the only one having a problem, Ok here is my story as Iam writing this, I am in their property and being here ever since 1300hrs yesterday 07/31. Well after going throug this whole deal of license plates and driver licence and being assign to a door went inside hire a lumper verry rude one, who thinks he get you in any way possible, if you choose to unloud it, they want you to show them a proof of certication to operate their lift truck from osha.
Well after some 6 hrs later They call me in and supprise me 90% of the load is back in the trlr, I said why, damage was their answer. to me that was imposible bcse only had the load less than 9hrs in my truck and about 350m from polland springs,me in a brand new trailer speed was of the truck was not more than 52mph everage, only stop once for fuel and shower and food.
The load is a water load, 960cases total 817 rejected, I couldnt beleive it, took some pictures all pallets stood up and shrink wraped as it was when i p/u. Try to see any water evidence on the trailer floor which is wood but none I did visual inspection for the pallets on the rear but also no water leak vissible or crashed boxes.
Now I call the broker company TQL and told them what is going on, but no the agent who book the load with me went home and they said they will call him to solve the matter and he will call me back. that was yesterday around 1800hrs and I am still waiting..
The only think i can think about there is may be something fishy going on, but I dont understand why... -
ugg sounds like a night mare from hell. sorry to hear bout that. those situations are tough. sometimes u feel like calling a taxi and saying adiosssss. did u ever find out if the water bottles were truelly damaged? i mean if they were dmaamged the trailer would be soaked with the product
right? -
One may think if the bottle water were damaged trailer would be soaked with water, but no, like I said no water in the trailer or the pallets or even the package itself, and even after it was unloaded there is no water leak evidence, gues what I end up delivering to New hampshire a whse for the shipper and paid half of the original rate and promise that I will be reloaded with real good paying load back to jersey but that promise from the broker as usualy it was a big lie..

good luck inktoxicated, one problem you'll find is getting to a store and having no open dock. toward the end of the day the receivers like to load them up for the night shift to work leaving you to double drop and hook just to get off a couple 3 pallets. hardworker, there's a possibility that the bottles were damaged. did you look at the top of the bottles? poland has cut back drastically on the thickness of the plastic to save money and the weak spot is the neck of the bottle right below the cap. If the pallets are stacked too high it can "mush" the ones on the bottom.
