What safety manager in the oil patch would approve forcing someone to work nights when 1. she said she would TRY nights and 2. she was brave enough to admit nights were not safe for her to do all the time?
According to the experts on Power Fuels policy and practice (actual employees), PF gives drivers the option of working day or night, not half-and-half or forced day or night. Are you a present or former PF employee? Then keep your brown twinkies to your own set of stained knickers.
Only unsustainable and foolish management would endorse such a decision to force her into any driving conditions that were hazardous. She is the only one to make any determination as to whether a set of conditions are hazardous or not. Nobody else not in her driver's seat is qualified. This is true of ANY driver. Perhaps NDBADLANDS would like to have seen her splattered all over the 1804 pavement because management forced her to work nights. I support her judgment, and am glad she is in a better position now.
Tioga PF has had multiple managers in the last few years. The average driver stint at Tioga PF is six months. Go figure. Not exactly an isolated incident.
In their defense, PF offers housing while most do not. There is much good I have learned from many drivers about PF, but the Tioga office is to avoided unless you enjoy the receiving end of the stick.
Yes, I am finished. You may leave now. Enjoy your smoke and beware the pee-test. End of sub-thread.

Who is Pride Trucking? Where are they from? Sounds familiar I must have seen those shiny trucks sitting too.
I agree with your post. Stay away until it picks up. Owner ops have been struggling lately. And....for the guy doing research......water isn't as easy as everyone thinks. Fresh water is hit or miss. Production is steadier but if your wells aren't producing enough you aren't working. I'd haul belly's if I were you. You are already construction right?? -
Negative...... I challenge you to name 3 because it's been years that ONE has been the pusher of that yard. I know him personally.
-
umm.. what is a pusher? and what was the train crash accident? thanks
-
My wheaties...... consist of this....Power Fuels been in business since 1954, and it get my crap hot when I hear anyone discount the job they are doing.
-
I'm sure you work for power fuels, and it's good to have pride in your company but you really shouldn't let #### like this bother you so much. All companies have people that think they are the crappiest ######## around and your not going to change their minds even if their information is third hand and wrong. I get it all the time about my outfit and I own mine it used to just chap my ### but anymore I just tell those guys that if they want to miss out on a decent job over something they heard then more power to them and I go about my business as usual, all getting mad does is raise your blood rescued and ruin your day which is what those people want. Most companies in ND are going through growing pains and with it being so slow a lot of us are wondering if we need to continue to grow or sit back and see what is going to happen this year. So just because one person had a bad experience or wasn't cut out for the job is no reason to ruin your day.

well it's not really fair to refer to him as a pusher anymore because that yard (and all the oilfield) has grown so much recently. He's the district manager for the Tioga district of Power Fuels.
The train crash accident is exactly what it sounds like. A truck leased to power fuels was hit by amtrak.pathfinder1361 Thanks this. -
To answer your first question. In the patch we refer to our supervisors as pushers as he is the one that pushes (essentially leads) the crew in the job that is set forth. If your a roughneck your boss is the toolpusher, if your a rig mover your boss is the truck pusher. Having been a truck pusher in the field and now being th manager and controlling partner of the entire operation I would kill to go back to my field job and just be responsible for my crew and not the entire company.NDBADLANDS and pathfinder1361 Thank this.

does north dakota / montana have emissions testing? can you remove EGR and DPF without issue or do they have testing or DOT checks for that?
-
There's no emission testing up here. I know o several companies that have bought new trucks and taken the emission equipment off but they only run a 4 state area. WY, MT, ND, SD.dieselpartsNo1 Thanks this.
