"you only get out of the job what you put into it"? I think you missed the point completely. Or, do you think getting terminated for refusing to drive faulty equipment was just "what I put into it"? Or maybe, it was just what I put into it and driving with a massive air leak, bad air compressor, leaking exhaust, leaking shock, massive oil leak, no heat/AC, just to name a few, is acceptable? Maybe it's what their safety idiot, Ken O. told me, "you can't hear the air leak when the truck is running (noise), so it's legal to drive".

 

Now it looks like Taylor has even stolen my last paycheck. Yup, what a great company.

I worked for Taylor Truck Line from Sept.09 to June 10. I quit to go to another company, because I thought the grass was greener there, but I was wrong. Taylor has an open door policy with management, so if you were having problems there you should have just called Rob Taylor the owner. I had some poblems with my dispatcher and also not getting my truck fix (I drove a retired JB Hunt truck with over 700,000 miles on) after I contacted Rob, he made sure my truck was fix and took are of the problems I was having with my dispatcher. I was one on the first drivers to use the elctronic logs when they were trying them out and I was never forced to drive over my HOS. I always got as many miles as I wanted there. The only problem I had when I left the company was they charged me $125 for not cleaning the floor of the truck, it was raining the day I quit and their yard is dirt so it had foot prints on the inside. If you quit a company, they don't have to pay for you to get back home. When you were in oreintation, you signed a paper stating that if you don't return your truck to MN, then they can put an abandon truck on your DAC report. I just wished I would have stayed working for Taylor, they were one of the best companies I have worked for.

 

Truckdriver mn I'll back CPH up everything he said is true I was there 2 months and everything he said is true. You are either someone from Taylor or an ignorant driver who does everything he's told with out question. If your happy there fine but CPH is not telling lies niether are many others on this forum.

 

I guess I should have charged them for cleaning their truck so it was liveable. In my 2 months there I had to run over hours 3 times on e logs. Open door policy? Ha! Mobljoe if you were happy there great but if that's the best place you ever worked I hate to see the other places you worked.

 

Well I'm not here to argue. Never had a problem talking to anyone. Things might be totally different on the van side I have no idea. Like I've said. I appreciate the name calling though, real maturity from someone that dont know me lol. Ignorant or not, I'm happy here and paying bills. That's all I care about.

 

I'm not argueing either I'm just saying CPH and many others are telling the truth.If your happy there fine, saying someone is ignorant isn't name calling I'm just saying based on your comments from my perspective your oblivious to reality I also said you could be a Taylor plant doing damage control. Questioning my maturity based on my comments when you don't know me doesn't help your arguement. We are discussing the van division here of wich you state you know nothing about. The flat side could very well be different I don't claim to know.The fact that a company with 300 some trucks has 2 orientations a week speaks volumes. The quality of equipment at Taylor also reflects the quality of driver they employ. I have more respect for myself than to be part of a company like Taylor. I gave them the benefit of the doubt for 2 months that was 2 months to much. All I'm saying is unless your a bottom of the barrel driver,have a bad DAC or CSA score (by the way they will hire you anyway) you can do much better. If your there and your happy fine but don't paint a false picture Taylor truck line is sub standard.

 

Well I'm sure I could have done better. But I wanted to stay with heavy haul. I've owned for 9 years. Wanted a company job after my truck burnt down. I'm not a bottom feeder driver I just have priorities with a young family. My csa and Dac are spotless, could have worked for any outfit I wanted. But it's nice only driving a hr to the truck. I have heard a lot of horror stories. And out of 4 or 5 in my orientation there are 2 or so left. Only 2 of us were flatbedders he quit already also. Took a local job in mo. Yea the stories worried me. I read all of them, my buddy also worked here and hated it quit right away. But I also know personally guys that have been here 10 15 years. I have a 16 month old at home. Just needed and water to try it. Thus far I'm happy. I think I'll be here a while.

Btw are the older fellow that owned a western star some time ago, also drove for the outfit in tx..? just trying to place you. Seen you are from IN. Met a few guys that started 2 3 months ago.

 

I do know who you are now and you are not a run of the mill driver. Had I have went heavy haul like you I might still be there. I was offered hh as I'm qualified but I wanted a change. I too have a good record and could go any where. I commend you for taking care of your family. For the record Taylor bought new equipment for their heavy haul division and seem to be giving it priority. As far the van division goes my opinion is still not good there are far better places to pull van. If you are quilified for heavy haul they might be ok. Had I known how their van division was I wouldn't have tried them. Anyway best luck to you and enjoy that 4 axle Kw. Van drivers be careful CPH is being honest.
