Does anyone know if/how to go about registering a truck in a different state than you reside in?
I'm not trying to cheat the system...I'm just fed up with WI and their IRP department.
I'd like to register the rig elsewhere for 48 states.
Is this possible and if so, how?
IRP in a different state?

Have a physical location...an office (address, telephone #, etc.) in the state where you want to register.

This is what I was thinking....Many times IFTA wants to see a cell or phone bill with a matching address. It can be a pain.

Florida information

I know some people that have used family members addresses in other states to register. They also have a landline at that address & forward it to any number they want

My old man lives in NY.....I dunno. I'd like to do this but see a ton of complications in the process...

It's more of a pain to set up than anything. Once up & going not really any issues. When you live in the flatbed & insurance hell that is Fl you do what you have to...

I would say there are no guarentees that somewhere else is going to be any better than where you are.

Well if you register the business in Florida you do not pay any state income tax if you change your residency to Florida, also the tax scale is so much less expensive than some states for business.
