Here iin Clinton, OK. Planners actually doing their job in PHX the other day. Before I awoke at the hotel, they sent me another pplan for after I dropped in El Piso. PU a load of ladders going to Niles for mid morning Sun. It is a push, 1500 miles in 2.5 days. The little wifey got her first taste of low visibility and crosswinds and dust storms. Off and on all the way from PHX to El Piso.
Good night from...

Boonville, MO at the Pilot where MoDOT CARES. If they care so much, why did they put one of their signs on a curve right after the brow of a hill, where the lighted sign and the curve realization hit at the same time, that reads, "FOCUS ON THE ROAD. MoDOT CARES"?
Not sure this is a Plus-1 load. Picked up in Wichita, KS this afternoon and ran it down to 550 miles to go to Columbus, OH which means an extra day between now and 02ferchristsakes00 Monday. Moose, I think it will be a live unload; it's going to a grocery dc and it's 42k of Tim Horton bbque sauces. I'm not sure if I'm going to burn it in in one day or lazy cruise it over two days. Either way it will screw up my hours back days that start Saturday midnight.
Frankscottied67 Thanks this. -
If you haven't done a grocery DC before, yeah they god awful appointment times at 0 dark hundred ... prepare yourself for the strong possibilty that you may be there for 4-6 hours.
Delaware ... got quick load out of NY that I dropped tonight. Heading for IL, if I can get ECT to dispatch me.A21CAV Thanks this. -
Absolutely right about that!
One of my first solo loads was Heinz Foods from near Toledo, OH to a Food City DC in Abingdon, VA. I was there 8 hours, long enough to accidentally do an 8/2 split sleeper while they pulled one pallet at a time, checked expiration dates and distributed each item to multiple store loads. They tried to get me to leave with 17 minutes left on the 8 and I refused, told them I wouldn't cross the curb until I was DOT legal on HOS. The local town cop was pulling in as I drove out.
I'm thinking of doing an 8/2 to deliver this load anticipating I'll be there at least the 2 hours.

I'd rather lazy cruise it over 2 days.
When hours come back in, it is nice to have something every day.
Plus, it is a more enjoyable drive.A21CAV Thanks this. -
I'm thinking the same thing. I passed an "Adult" store a ways back that had a big sign, "Nude Girls" and "Open 24 Hours". I'm thinking of doubling back to verify that and do some other touristy stuff on the way over the next few days. Maybe the dozen or so trucks that were there will have moved on by then so I have a place to park. I hear there is a Swift calender that has pictures taken by drivers of their trucks with interesting places in the background. I wonder...

I refer to El Piso as Elf's ####### (a sphincter muscled orifice) and folks seem to know exactly where that is.

I'm in Memphis TN at the terminal.
Took a load the first 700 miles on the way to Dallas, and t-called it here.
Of course Plus-1 didn't give me enough time to make it on time, so I sent a Mac 22 stating my new eta as 2000 with a pta of 0800 tomorrow morning.
I had picked it up with only a couple hours left, so I had to do 610 miles today. No way could I get it to Memphis by 1530.
Later today I get a message that my pta was reset back to 1600.
So I get a pplan this afternoon for a trailer repositioning that is supposed to be 270 miles away by 1215 tomorrow.
It is a 6 hour drive, because of the roads - not really any interstates.
Let's do the math.
I get here just before 2000, spend a little time to fill my DEF tank, drop the trailer and go inside.
2030 by the time I get through the line to the window.
I ask the guy at the window about this pplan, and he tells me that the actual window is until midnight.
So I say, ok, as long as I can get it there when I get there.
He gives me a trailer, an old MS.
I do a quick check of the trailer, not intending to really inspect it until morning. The inside looks like it went through a sand storm, so I have some major cleaning to do in the morning.
When I get back to my truck I have 4 messages waiting on the QC.
2 copies of the same pplan, with the same times as the original.
I intend to sleep in a bit, clean the trailer, send a QC to be attached to it and get dispatched.
Then another Mac 22 that will let me get it there at my leisure.
I'm really tired of this BS. -

Hey Frank, used to live up there by the Heinz factory. Its actually in a little town called Rossford. Glad you got out of there before dealing with those cops. You still be sitting in the jail now. They give tickets for looking crosseyed!!
