Does your truck have DEF.
-
Yes. I've never let it run out or too low.
-
yes we both do
-
did you recently let the DEF red light come on when it got low.
-
no i keep it pretty good
-
Sad face. Not looking good if that's the case.
I could use the miles of another east coast run, given that I've been sitting for 10 days here, but I've really got things I have to do at home. -
Not recently but it's happened to me a time or two in the past. The light in mine will start to come on at about 1/8 to 1/4 tank, according to the guage itself.

I was having some of the same problems.A mechanic told me,never run it under 3/8ths of a tank.It crystallizes in the tank and starts to gum crap up.So Ive been keeping it fuller and havent had any problems.Could be a coincidence. There is just to much computer crap on these trucks.Glad Im going local.

I won't run it that low ever again, after the fiasco I've had these past several weeks.
There were fibrous materials, like a shop rag, jamming up some filter in the def system. I don't understand how it got in there, but hopefully that was the last problem.
