Striker, you're speaking of the few.

MOST don't turn their lives around. And yes, I was perhaps, a bit pre-judgmental as I TRIED to convey in my last post on this topic.

As I state "I have my personal opinions" on these kinda things and I don't think a person has to be a BAD guy to rob a bank.

In fact, I saw a signature on someone here that said "Give a man a gun and he can rob a bank. Give a man a bank and he can rob the world". I thought this was absolute truth, and beauty, that few understand in the Matrix today.

I've looked at the Rothchilds and International Banking and have NO LOVE for their kind. PERSONALLY, I wouldn't hold it against him.

I guess I was actually a bit butt hurt over this being that the worse thing I have on my record is a DUI approaching the 5 year mark and was a bit miffed that a convicted felon could get a job before I could with ONE DUI in my entire 34(almost 35) years.

But, again, MOST do not change their ways. Especially in today's society where making ONE MISTAKE could mark you for the rest of your entire life.

If the fella in question is truly (as God only knows) a decent guy, I pray he is shown a way. If not, eh...... Water seeks it's own level as my old Mentor Mr. Bond used to say.

    cheers

Here's the problem with society. We hear, and look this thread, someone has a felony and immediately rush to judge and not give the person a chance. The biggest reason for high return rate is just this kind of crap, no one wants to give someone a chance to rehabilitate and get their life in order. While I was on probation, there was a company here in Denver that specialized in helping ex-cons find jobs. Hell, they helped me find a job. Sadly, they went out of business, why? Because they couldn't get enough companies willing to hire. The trucking company I work for, at one time there were 3 of us with felonies working for the company. My boss once said he wished he could clone the three of us, he'd never have to hire another driver again.

If anyone thinks prison is a place for rehabilitation, you are completely mistaken.

I did twelve years, from the time I was 15 til I was 27. Maximum security prison is where I basically grew up. Prison is a warehousing system. More times than not, they will release people that they know will re-offend. Seen it many, many, many times. I've been out for 15+ years and not once been in any trouble. Yet the only reason I'm out is because a judge wanted to correct a wrong before he retired.

It just cracks me up how I hear people or read what people say. It's like so many are so perfect. They've never screwed up. It's narrow minded people like that that were hell bent on seeing me die in prison when they never even knew the facts.

Everyone deserves a second chance. A lot of individuals will screw that chance up, no doubt. But there's tons of people who won't. They will go on to live a productive, normal life. But no one ever talks about them.

Having a felony conviction does hamper you from getting jobs. People will automatically look down on you once they find out.

The remark about convicts running to the trucking industry is ignorant. Most, if not all, won't even consider employing you until 7-10 years after you've been out. Which makes sense. If you've made it that long, then more than likely you won't re-offend. So guys aren't getting out of prison and jumping into a truck.

People are quick to point and judge. Until you walk a mile in my shoes, take your judgements and, well, you know.....

Anything is possible....And the Megas have a very high turn-over....He'll find a job somewhere....

Hell....I used to work with a guy who robbed banks on his lunch break....
He brought a bike with him in his work truck....Then he would put on coveralls and ride to a bank he cased out.....Rob the bank.....Ride back to the job before lunch was over....Ditch the bike and the coveralls.....

He robbed about 8 banks before he got caught....

He told us he did it because he had huge gambling debts.....

That's been the way since Day One.....And not just where committing a crime is involved....

When I worked construction....Nobody remembers the million dollar jobs you ran and made the company money....But if you lose $1500 on a job.....They'll be talking about that for years......:biggrin_2556:
