So xFreeWord420X so its easy driving into a sqaull line that reduces vis to maybe 20' with hail that surprised the Weatherforcasters. How about driving down a 6% grade thats 5-6 miles long in the dark and fog.How about driving weird hours to get the load delivered ontime. Since you drive the midwest you have it easy. Driving out west its a bit different with all the Mountains we have to deal with. Also pulling a hazmat load is stressfull as well. The actual driving OTR isn't physically demanding its mentally demading. Doing PTIs is easy, but when you have trip plan a load that delivers 2,000+ miles that takes a minuimn of thirty minutes. Yes you have to plan where you are going to fuel, take your 10, and plan for weather, construction, accidents,shippers/recievers who take too long to load and unload. I pull reefers and have had P/U and Delivery times anywhere from 2 and 6am. Also from your post it sounds like you have a regular schedule. Driving OTR you do not have or will not have a regular schedule and this wears down a driver, both physically and mentally.
Is it really easy?

You have to learn to read brotha. Everything you just said, has been covered. You may find it stressful, and I am not degrading you for that. But it takes a lot more than driving down a big grade, or trip planning to stress me out. I would like to see you tell all of the "Midwest" drivers they have it "easy". Just because I live in Ohio, doesn't mean it is the only place I drive.. I could have sworn there was Mountains to the east, but I guess I was mistaken? lol. Learn to read scuby.

i have done a lot of things in my life hard and easy almost all of them where i was self employed or the boss. now working for others with a large carrier and endless rules i find the most challenging. 50 mph winds and 30 foot waves are easier to deal with then night dispatch
xFreeWord420x Thanks this. -
After how idiotic my dispatcher has been for the past month, I agree.

DM I had Never drove a truck, I had it out with him on the phone, and Yes he can say on the spot " Your Fired, for insubordination". I ripped him up and down, then told him he NEVER even drove a truck, Then he yelled back at me after about a minute of me yelling, "You better watch out what you say". I said, Have a nice day, Hung up. Dispatchers also, NEVER drove a truck. I do have a problem with someone telling me what to do, and they NEVER drove a truck. At the time, I had all my research and paper work all set, TO RETIRE, so, I didn`t give a darn what happens. Now that REALLY felt good. I was the best driver they could ever have, and I say that because, I tried Really hard all my years of driving, and Never took there money, I earned it.
scottied67 and xFreeWord420x Thank this.
