I guess drinking coffee and making quick stops at truck stops to get out and pee and walk around will be a good way to get by. Take daily vitamins and eat good.

Title of thread: Going Green in the Trucking Industry
I'm doing a poll for a college course. I would appreciate the feedback of professional truckers. If you could take 2 minutes of your time, it would really mean a lot to me. Thanks.
The poll is here.
See how much nicer that looks?

I've tried it twice, and both times it made the fatique worse. Last time I tried it was coming down I-81 and hitting I-70 west and then I-48 through Cumberland, Md...( which use to be RT 40-48, an mostly 2 lanes, for the newer drivers that never seen it )....and I'll never drink it again.

I use it when I need to run a little late. As someone else said you have to time when to take it. Better to start out rested and eat lightly; early. No Fried Chicken before an all-nighter. Also get a case of water and keep drinking. Hard to get tired when bladder is full. Whatever you do don't drink milk or you'll be out like a rock.

I don't know if it's a placebo
Effect or it actually does work, I just know that in a pinch and I need it (I'll usually find somewhere to nap instead as I live nappy time) it works for me -
If I ever want a heart attack, I'll drink it. Friend who used to work for May took one, within 15 minutes he thought he was having an anxiety attack. Racing heart, raised pulse, sweating. I've talked to my Dr. about it, most MD's strongly recommend against it, and if you have a heart condition or are diabetic, even more so they are against it. I don't remember his specific reasons why, but I'm going to listen to someone who's been an MD for 40 yrs, and my MD for 28 yrs.

Look up each of the ingredients of all the sports drinks along with those of 5 hour on the internet. Read carefully the adverse effects and weigh your chances of a long healthy life. Also you can add alcohol and severely endanger your health. The makers/promoters could care less what happens to you as long as they get your money.
when Sobe Adrenalin came out around 2000 I drank it a couple times a week for the added kick of energy they promoted, I was working at spotting for a crane loading my flatbed, unhooked the sling the headache ball spun one more revolution and the cable sliced my forearm, not real deep, yet enough to bleed and bleed it did for 4 hours and with direct pressure held too. Odd since I have AB positive it should have coagulated in just a few seconds. The site foreman and Super., mandated I be taken to the emergency room. That is where I found out about what I was ingesting and the dangers. As of today I (yrs later), I have a need to have bloodwork done to be on the safe side, still takes time to stop bleeds and I've not drunk any since.
I lost 2 co-workers to the big Monster drinks, heart attacks. Eat proper meals, good sleep and at least some exercise will keep your awake hours easier, just walking at a fast pace a mile or three a week can give most healthy people the required energy to drive the required hours needed to do your job competently. Drink plenty of water and eat fruits and veggies will greatly effect you as well. Drink toxic chemicals only if you want to glow in the after life.MazelTruck Thanks this.
