I have selective reading, too! It comes with age.:biggrin_2556:
    So does selective spelling!

Well what I call "gut-wrapping" (or maybe some of you refer to it as "gut-strapping") is say I have a load of pipe....The pipe is loaded on top of dunnage....Two layers say....Then I throw two straps...Front and back....Another layer of duannage....Two layers of pipe.....Center strap.....Repeat.....

The belly-wrap would a strap or chain and wrap the load in it's circumference...

So maybe we're all doing the same thing but calling a different name....

On that load I would have Gut-strapped with two straps halfway....Then do what you did over the top layers with chains Belly-wrapped...

What was the OD of that pipe?

Smaller OD can be loaded like that....But I still prefer to layer it and secure those layers....

It's your truck...Your trailer...And if the shipper says otherwise...Drivers should refuse the load....

Shippers rarely if ever, take any responsibility for a load that fails......

I have done that way with strap winches...Since Utility is effing cheap and you only get 5 sliding winches per side......

From the pics, that is pyramid stacked. No gap in the middle, with dunnage, to run straps. He did good.

Never mind, I misread your post.

Your trailer or company? It ain't Utility, it's whoever ordered the trailer. Winches can be added. Fontaine offered 8 on one side, standard. They will do 8 per side, max, at the factory. I got them and added more for a total of 30, (15 per side).

It's mine....It's a pain in the azzhat to add winches on it though...I'll have to plan some time when I get some extended time to add them.....I need to do other things to it as well....I have three tool bins....Two between the spreads and one on the R/S front....And I still need more room....:biggrin_25523:
I need to add a dunnage rack....A ladder rack....A spare tire carrier....But right now...It's all about running while the running is good....:biggrin_25525:
