Generally its better for you to have your permit (in one of the states that reciprocates with Missouri) because its less stressful for you. 4 to 6 months is most likely something left over from when they cut the training miles a bit - have you ever maintained a website? Its difficult to keep it all lined up with a training policy that admittedly has changed some.

Desperate? Hardly. Half of your PSD class will most likely wash-out of the CDL instructional phase, and another half of what's left most likely won't make it through training. Carriers that are desperate for meat in a seat pass everyone - no matter how bad their driving is.

Texas is a whole 'nother deal. I'm not sure about the permit, but when I was down there last summer looking for a place to obtain a hazmat clearance for when I renewed my CDL (out of Colorado) I was told that a clearance obtained there was only good for a Texas license. I'd assumed that since the CDL was a federal thing (administered by the states) that it wouldn't matter. There are a few other states that work that way as well.

yea that is what i was thinking "that texas is one of them states that has to be different in other words they are a greedy state that works to find more way to put their hand in my pockets" ha ha I got them fooled my pockets are empty. Maybe with you in the company you can tell me why they have to have a birth cert for someone that is my age and only lived here in the u.s. got all the other ss card , drivers lies . not that it bothers me just wanting to know why
I.p. I have enjoyed reading alot of the things you write and how you speak what is on your mind <<< no beating around the bush if it was to hurt someones feelings while then get over it and man up lol.

I don't know why they need the birth cert either but it must be important. When I had already been working here about 15 years they sent me a message one day saying they needed a copy of it.

The birth certificate shouldn't be an I9 immigration compliance thing. It may have to do with TSA and security. You know... transporting terrorist dead cows around the country!

There are no shortcuts at Prime when it comes to training. I have heard they are increasing the minimum amount of miles before you can upgrade.

Ive heard 10,000 preliminary and another 30,000 before you are offered a position. the legitimacy of this of course questionable due to the sheer fact that I was told one thing and "AJtrane" was told another. Guess Ill just find out when I get there. In the mean time i am going to go get my permit. Thanks for the responses.

Go visit U2's training thread. He's in the middle of it and can explain it better than anyone here.

We are planning to go to prime end of may... Have driving exp, going In for lease purch. Can anyone tell me how their hotel is? The campus Inn? Our current company also owns their own hotel And it was pretty nasty. Does this one have a fridge And microwave? Also, i had stomach surgery several yrs ago... how are The meals they provide? Also, do they have any type of shuttle to go to a grocery store or anything?

Hope you have the down payment handy.

Campus Inn was alright. I'd say three stars out of five.

I believe they were putting fridges and microwaves in, but I really don't recall.

Breakfast and lunch are basic - nothing fancy, but it was good. Evening meals at the Northstar Grill at the main terminal are very good... both cafeteria style selections and made-to-order from the grill.

Shuttle service is available, a Walmart Superstore is within easy walking distance.

The Campuss Inn doesnt have microwaves, at least no room Ive been in has had one. Fridge is in most rooms though.
