Its expected of you here @ Sanjel too.. we have 3 high pressure wash bays, you *must* wash the trucks after every job, as well as refueling them after the job is done. Plus if anything is wrong or broken, you're responsible to fix it.. grease the blower after every job, the shaft after every 2. Every wednesday is ' shop day ' unless the job you were on during tuesday passes midnight. Every Wednesday is switch out day, they want the trucks showroom as you are passing the truck to a different driver for the week. Truck assignments come out tuesday night, its unlikely you have the same unit week over week, so its only courtesy to hand off a clean working truck to the next guy.

It just keeps things much easier when you have to have something fixed, the mechanic doesn't want to work on a muddy truck, you don't want to be under it doing the 250 hour service if you're getting mud in your face either.

First impressions count, showing up on lease with a dirty truck, garbage falling out of it and stuff not working wont get you coming back, and you'll certainly get an earful from the office if that happens.. as bobbyt said, you do not want to be on the recieving end of that.

That being said, agreed, Trican has the nicest iron on the road.

Is it true there is only 1 key?

Your policies and ours are almost the same. No, there are about 4 keys to each truck but the drivers only have 1. The trucks aren't shut off so really don't need more.

Flint trucks were very impressive onsite. Looked like a dealership when they set up for a frac. I often saw Sanjel around, always clean and well cared for, but not quite as flashy somehow. Never saw them in mass groups.

Impressive training program they put you on onetrack, that will make it easy if you ever want to move on. Did it take you long to unlearn the shifting we learned from wayne? lol

I averaged about $2000 a week but did much better when I was hungry at first lol. Long hours though. How many hours a day do you usually work?

Sanjel runs alot of iron with dayton wheels and when they DO have budds, they are often steel and their paint scheme is butt ugly. I don't recall seeing a trican truck without polished budds & tanks. Even a dirty Trican truck looks better than a detailed Sanjel truck.

Yeah I had to unlearn double clutching.. people laugh when you do that.. but the driver evaluators just say drive how you're comfortable, you learn everything else the more you're behind the wheel.

I really wish I'd known about Sanjel/Trican etc before I took the training via Columbia, even though the columbia training was 104 hours and covered a lot of ground getting hired on by either company when they want to ramp up and they'll take on class 5's.. by the end of the first week everyone in the class, all the class 5's had their Q endorsement (airbrakes) paid by Sanjel, Since I've been here in Edson, I've seen probably 8 guys with class 5's hired on and sanjel has paid for them to get their class 1's. its a 20 hour course through ATTA but its enough to pass the road test. The rest is just experience.
The only catch is you agree to stay for a year, if you leave you're on the hook for the 3k cost, my course was nearly 10k..

Lol.. yeah I don't know about the matte silver / purple stripes color scheme, the trucks all have a red interior as well..

Think of all the abuse these trucks take out on the lease roads tho, some of those roads i've been on were pretty hella rough, up the ANC a couple hundred km rattling everything apart.. being dragged through the mud, up the willow and crown hill.. they're built to take the abuse but they sure get it.

Certainly spent a lot of time watching the trucks, I think with all the mud plus the matte paint they never really shine, but cleaned up inside and out they do look good now and then :D

I like GasFrac's iron too, their stuff is always showroom shine
