The company paid me to dead head to Waterloo IA and picked up this morning a John Deere tractor over width and height 14'4" tall and 10' wide, had a little delay get the MO permit but nothing major i will deliver tomorrow in Canton MS, im planned to do one load for sure and if i get unloaded early enough i will have two that will keep me busy over the weekend and through most of next week,

it is taking some getting use to with such a hands off company i truly run the truck as i see fit and if i don't want a load or do it is all up to me. i am staying busy for sure.

i bought a printer scanner last night from walmart for $50 and that makes getting permits way easier they just email them to me and i print them out no waiting at truck stops for faxes and it should pay for its self quickly, also i can scan the bol's in for quicker pay on loads, i still have to mail the originals in..

i attached a few pics of the load today..

    well gotta be rolling early

Cool learning how things are done over at Sammons. I worked for Watkins Shepard down the street years ago and always drove by that place wondering about them. Keep up the blog.

Lone Star Transportation (they have no age limit as long as the truck is in good condition)

well a few things i have noticed this past week, 1 is not many people talk on the CB if they even have one, i tried to let some trucks heading the opposite way know about a roll over up ahead and got no response, the next group i did get a response but i guess that is just the way it goes. running maxi's in the northwest eveyone talked on the radio so that is a shock to me..

2 is the lack of common curtsy, almost no one waves when you pass or flashes you back over let alone look at you when you go by just seems like a different world.

    3. what is with all the fast food places at truckstops heaven for bid i would like a good sit down meal at some time

Welcome to trucking in the 21st. Century! Back when I started in the late 70's it was starting to decline to the way it is today, drivers don't wave, look at you, or stop if your broke down on the side of the road and here on the east coast all ya hear anymore on the cb are your radio rambos. Yeah you can't get a good meal in truck stops anymore everything is fast food which is why ya have 300lb drivers !
