I ran with CRST a while back, not many complaints if you like teams. I don't. I heard US Express are automatics, others dont like that they want you to learn to shift. Never heard anything good about Werner, of the rest Roehl may be your best bet. Good luck and watch out for smokie

Pattyj, you are correct, they have never been a starter company. They decided to hire from the school I attended which was just shy of 6 months training at 20 hrs per week. I interviewed at their NJ headquarters and they called and offered me a spot at orientation the next day. I will be the first student in their history which is kinda cool. I also heard good things about Roehl but nobody has much to say about them, but all positives about New Century so far, thanks!

Dirtyjerz thanks, I live in Delaware and it took me about an hour and 10 minutes to get to their terminal/headquarter in NJ. I have the offer and it's between them and Roehl. Any more comments from Roehl from anyone? New Century is winning so far, so more home time with Roehl and more money with New Century.

The owner of New Century knows how to run a trucking company. He created Jevic and sold it to YRC for $$$$$$$$, which they then destroyed. He started NC and most of his old Jevic drivers jumped ship and were the first NC drivers. Most new drivers endure crap companies to get their two years in to go to companies like NC. Like I said before, it's a no brainer.

Amen. I don't know how many times I have told my students that as an act of survival, they MUST learn to enjoy the job, that they will never be good at a job they hate. So build on what they enjoy about trucking and use what they hate about trucking as a cheap source of entertainment.

Like watching the idiot drivers at the Kroger Warehouse in Houston tear up their trucks trying to back into the slot. Just back up, park in a safe place and let the games begin! Bam, Boom, Crunch. Three drivers motioning three different directions trying to help driver one to back into a door. Comedy this good usually has to be paid for!

No, didn't want a short program, went to All State Career in Lester, PA. Matter of fact, New Century is only hiring out of that school, 6 months of 20 hrs a week gives you lots of maneuver and road time for sure!
