Congrats on your anniversary. Couldn't they deadhead you to Fargo, Moorehead or Bismarck to get a reload?

Deadheading will be about the only option. We always figure on at least a 300-400 mile deadhead out of there. Especially if your pulling a flat.

Well look at the bright side, at least your company pays you, and you don't get to argue with payroll every week for the $$$ they owe you. Or made you wait 3 days for a load and then when you finally get your next load, you go to get fuel at the companies yard in salt lake city, utah and they tell you need 1 new drive tire and make you wait 2 more days to get a new tire. C. R. England on the other hand ... :biggrin_25513:

Welcome to the world of transportation.
If you only wanted loads that had an immediate load right after it, then you may need a different job than OTR trucking. That is in no way realistic on anyone's part. There are of course regional/dedicated things to do out there if you choose to, but OTR is just that.

with this economy, there's going to be times you will pull a good long trip, than wind up sitting for a while. sometimes they might find a load, just to have it fall through because the broker or shipper doesnt want to pay what your company wants for a rate, or some bottom-feeder outfit underbids.

A lot of contracts are awarded, we'll give you these ten good runs but you have to cover these three bad ones. Guess which one you got? :)

It also happens a lot in other area's.
