If you fail the backing test they will bring you back the next day and work with you until you either pass or completely flunk out..................BTW when a student fails the backing test the trainer does not get all of their Upgrade Pay (a trainer can make upwards of $300...different amounts for the different parts of the test).

Well I finaly got the hell off this trainers truck. Rotten experience all around. Guy started running the truck like a team opperation on day 3. End of day 2 saw me in a accedent where a old fellow who pulled out of a driveway into my trailor tandem. Nobody hurt thank god and I dont think itll come back on me even given the liberal view of what "preventable" means. Guy was hauling obviously defective trailors twice that I know of. One with breaks that were faulty. I didnt touch either of them before anyone asks

Getting off was another excercise in madness. the tc and This trainer are buddies .as soon as he learned which trainer I had he threw a crap attitude my way. Ended up calling the tc I had just after orientation and get her to contact a supervisor. Now I get to contact the training department when I get to springfield. I dont trust this tc as far as I can throw that tractor. He might be trying to collor some facts. and im almost positive hes going to let me stew till he can get me with the worst trainer he can find. Just hope they arnt trying to alter the logs to make things look better than they are. Of course altering the odometer might be a little harder. How bad can my luck really get for god sakes.

And now 12 hours of greyhound. Yay.

Good job, you stood up for yourself- and your career. It's a good thing. You were getting used as a team member, not being trained as an apprentice. Before you can use good judgement (like choosing the correct speed for construction zones) you need to combine the skills and experience that someone has introduced and helped you build in training.

I say you passed your first- and second- tests. You put safety and your new career in the right perspective.

Cornsquare, Onetruckpony and MNdriver Thank this.

I confess....I was speeding in a construction zone yesterday and today......miles and miles and miles of I80 with no people in site and I had to run at least 60 to keep from getting run over.

If the lanes are tight, and if there is active construction going on, then I'm usually at least 5 miles under the speed limit.

Well thats one thing. Wouldnt catch me dead going 15 over anywhere (some of thats just driving where I grew up. Cops were brutal on trafic quotas). This was wall to wall trafic with workers running around XD

Hmm. Would be a little silly for me to make another thread to ask this. What happens if one half of a team gets done well ahead of the other? Ive been stuck in springfield since I got off this jokers truck. Wont get a new trainer till saturday morning. Wife is starting to get a ways ahead on hours.
