Hello to all drivers and everyone in this forum. My name is James, I filled out a application online and got accepted on March 6. I live in Orlando, Fl and plan to go the Millington Academy in Tennessee. My recruiter Sonya Pontaja gave my User Name/Password for the Swift Online CDL Course. I already completed that and passed everything. So when I called and told my recruiter im done she told me all I have to do now is get my CDL permit and get going. So Now after that I went to do the DMV and got the CDL manual to study. I have been studying for 2 whole weeks and feel like I know everything I need to pass. I went like 4 times and still havent been able to pass the General Knowledge test. So I studied and studied more and went 2 more times still cannot pass the exam. Can someone please tell me what should I do, Is theres any websites I can study online to pass? Im planning to go on May 7th, please help thanks

I know it's easy to say, but don't feel too bad about not passing it the first time. Fred had to take it 2 or 3 times and he felt pretty awful, but the STRESS of not passing made him even more likely to miss out on one word that might effect the answer. Read every single question slowly and make sure that you understand what it is asking. Some of those questions were worded in a way that it would be very easy to give the wrong answer. There's a practice test on this website. Look up at the top of this page. See where it says CDL Test? It's not a bad way to practice, and there are other sites that have the same kind of practice tests. Good luck, and don't give up.

Are there states easier than others? I've studied but only the manual, I found a good pratice website called Cristcdl.com and TruckerCountry.com. I dont know if they are enough to help but I will study both plus the manual and go take the test again this Friday. I will have more confidence the next time I go. I hope I pass the test to get started. Also is the General Knowledge the hardest test out of all?

Fred says that the general knowledge section probably is the hardest of them all because it is such a broad range of questions.

James 77.. I passed my hazmat and combo right away. Had to take air brake 3 times. I literally wrote-out the chapter on air brake til I thought my hand would fall off. Passed next day, perfect score. Maybe writing out things will help. Good luck!

If your not sure of the answer on a question pass it and come back to it.You used to be able to do this I dont know if you still can.Answer only the questions your pretty sure you know the answers to.In this way you can answer enough questions to pass without having to answer the questions your not sure about. And then you can come back to them if needed.Sometimes you get the answers to previos questions later in the test on succeeding questions.

With the florida DMV when you go take the test.. its a touchscreen.. and they give you one question at a time.. and once you enter your answer for the question.. it scores it and moves onto the next. You cant skip anything.. and you can't go back after the fact & change your answer. I just took the same tests last week.

I took the practice tests here on this website. I took them over and over until I could pass. The FL DMV questions are worded very similar for the most part as the practice tests.. but there were a few questions that still threw me off. Just take things slow.. read the entire question... and it seems like when you're offered 4 choices, usually two are completely not close to the answer.. and the remaining two are the ones that could be it, chose the best one from those. Wish I could help ya out more.

Worst case, see if your recruiter can push you back a week or two. Im lined up to go to Millington on the 21st.
