I know it has been discussed in other forums. However I was wondering what you guys used for GPS. I was looking at the 710 Randy McNally. I dunno though. Yes I do still read a map so getting from state to state isn't a problem. It would just be nice to have a GPS with truck routing rather than using my Iphone.

When I was running the big roads I had the 510 which is basicly the same thing except smaller, and I loved it!! It was nice to be able to look up and see a real time ETA of a truck stop or shipper/receiver. It also came in handy when I had no directions or telephone number, as it got me there every time other then TWICE it sent me down a weight restricted road in PA.

Rand Mcnally hands down has got to be the best one out there. If you use it as a tool it is very very helpful.

When used in conjunction with google maps and your paper road atlas, a gps is a great tool. I'd go Rand especially because of the support you can from them on the forum.

I have the 710 and love it. Did a software update last night and some improvements. You can also go tho their website and get a great deal on a refurbished one if you are looking for a deal.

Be nice if they would make a gps that would show high crime areas. That's the gps I'd spend money on. Nothing like making a wrong turn in a bad neighborhood....lol

I love Street Atlas by Delorme also and love using it on a 17" screen laptop that you can see not only what is around you, but what is miles ahead too.

After using it on a large screen laptop since 2000, I don't think I could get used to those little screen GPS units. My wife's Chrysler Town & Country mini-van has the built in GPS that is still too small for me and that thing also gets Sirius TV channels too.

I have VZ Navigator in smartphone as a back up and even Escort Live app on smartphone links to a gps map to spot the police on it by other users.
