Stay where you are. That's a good job you have there already. You'll be moving from one side of the fence to another if you change companies this early, and the grass will be just as green. If anything, your new grass may turn out to be a little less green. I'd bet a large sum that you wouldn't make 55K at the new job your first year. You'll make 35-40 in all likelihood, plus you'll be on the road all the time and your benefits may not be as good.

You've got it very good right there where you are.

I have been out here 20 years as a longhaul driver and if it were me i would take the job with nfi 55000 per year is not bad at all.Just starting out on over the road you will make about 37000 your first year then it could go up,but thats alot of time you got to put in.I know 45 cents sounds good, but the next thing is can they deliver on the miles.Alot of companys will promise you the world.Your average miles for a solo out here is 2500 to 3000 per week that adds up to around 58000 a year but thats dream world(if every thing went right but it wont)after son experiance your looking at topping out at around 40 to 45000. I myself would take the nfi and be home every day and week ends.
