Hey walstib,
I am going to be moving up to Denver, Colorado in July!! I am really excited about applying with this company. Are the trucks equipped with APU's and e-logs? Do they let you take the company truck home? I would really appreciate the info. Thanks Hope to see you out there in August. -
Most don't have APUs. Some do take there rigs home, I think it depends on where your at. No E-logs, thank god.

Still love the company, but really starting to dislike a lot of the drivers. Do the schools teach anything about pre and post trips anymore. 2 trailers in less than 2 weeks. Go to hook up for my runs and 7 tires and 1 clearance light later....
For the love of God, do your post trip inspection before you dock or drop your trailer, and red tag it if needed. That's 5 hours I'm not gettimg back. -
Most drivers just feel that it's too much time out of their sleep. I agree with you completely though.
-
You can't say WE anymore, AT. They were two companies ago, no matter where your heart is haha

running local/shortline we use alot of the same trailers so it really helps when drivers do a post trip.........treat every trailer you drop as the possible next trailer you pick up...
when i was ever down in sfs/helena/conover id take a walk around the yard with a handful of red tags...if i spotted something id write it up... -
Two trailers in two weeks? I usually find more than that...which is why I tend to prefer live loads/unloads to drop and hooks. For me, it's the known versus the unknown, and when it comes to trailers I'd rather just keep the one I have because at least I already know what, if anything, is wrong with it.
All seven bad tires were on one trailer? I'd call that one in to Safety--they'll find out who dropped it and that driver will get a call about it. Maybe if enough drivers report all the broken trailers other drivers drop the company will weed out the lazy and irresponsible ones who continually shirk their duties while benefiting from all the unpaid time and work the rest of us put in getting broken trailers fixed. -
Totally agree! The lazy drivers are probably a big reason as to why the company's CSA score is so bad. There's just no excuse for it. They should be reported to safety and weed them out like Henley said. It's the only way the CSA scores are going to get better, I'm surprised the company isn't more strict. Watkins obviously treats their drivers like professionals, to bad some drivers don't act that way.
Does Watkins get targeted by DOT at the scale house's due to their scores?
