Hello,
I am a "newbie" trying to get into oilfield trucking. I just recently got my class A CDL with doubles/triples, tanker, & haz-mat endorsements. Although I just recently got my CDL, I do have a little experience with trucks. I was on the fire department for 8 years. On the department, my station held Freightliner Business class trucks (engine/heavy rescue & tanker) and a military deuce-and-a-half. Unfortunately, they were all automatics except for the deuce-and-a-half. At 30 years old, I am a quick learner and willing to work hard. Long hours don't bother me at all(did plenty of those on the FD).
I was born in western Oklahoma (Enid) where my dad was a driller. For the past 20 years, he has hauled crude in SE Kansas and out west. Therefore, I am familiar what the work in the oilfields will entail.
I have filled out many applications for the Williston area, Texas, and Oklahoma (thanks to the many threads on this forum giving leads). I have heard nothing back so far, but I am not letting that get me down. I have a good work history and I have a resume and a letter of recommendation that I can e-mail to prove my history.
This is my last resort before I leave. I will be in Williston next week to start knocking on doors. I am hoping this post will get some attention so I can hopefully get a few appointments lined up for some face-to-face time with some potential employers. Like I stated above, I am new to the trucking industry, but I am a quick learner with a clean driving history, no arrest history, and able to learn the ins and outs quickly.
Thanks for looking!
Matt

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Go to a service company for a year then you can pick where you want to work. Not many in ND will take newbies anymore. Too many experience guys flocking here to pick from. -
You know the area around Enid is heating up right now

I was afraid of that. I sent out countless resumes on-line and still heard nothing back, yet. There is 2 of us heading to Williston and we have a buddy up there now that will let us stay with him. Figured we might as well give it a shot since we have been planning on it for the past month now. Texas/Oklahoma will be my next destination. I have a family friend that just got on out there as driver in the Woodward area, so hopefully that will help, too. Right now I am sitting in Kansas and will be heading out the next couple days with my dad to "learn the ropes". Thanks for the replies!

Rattle:
I checked my inbox but there is nothing in there. Sorry, I have been on the road and now just getting into williston. -
Yeah I am new to truckers report and I just checked my sent mail and nothing there so I guess it didnt go.
I want to let you know that I have 2 vacuum trucks ready to work. The trucks are in New Mexico right now but I am looking anywhere out of there. I read your post and was glad to hear you are from Enid, Ok because my wife has family that lives there. Anyhow I am looking for help to get my trucks to work in the oilfield. If you can get a job for my trucks then I can hire you under my company and you can have a job with me.
I dont have the time to travel and look for work for my trucks but if you are successful I will make sure you are compensated with work and something extra during the time you work for me.
Please let me know if you are interested. All you have to do is offer the trucks anywhere you go and if something becomes of it, then its good for both.

I can definitely work something out. I think you have to have 7 posts before you can pm. Anyways, is there a way I can contact you? Thanks for your help!
