Talked to my friend that hauls glass for Mav. He said the new recruits are getting the new trucks...just like they did for me until mine broke!...lol

Talked to some of the other drivers when I was in De Witt the other day and they have seen some new guys with 2013 trucks. So I guess they are coming one of these days.

Definitely get more than one offer if you can. As far as glass vs regular flatbed, both are hard work. If a person is unable or unwilling to do the work required to pull glass chances are they aren't going to make it in flatbed either.
If you are in decent shape I wouldn't let age get in your way. The heaviest thing we have to deal with is a glass tarp on a step deck or regular flatbed trailer. They weigh about 80 pounds, you put it over your shoulder and climb a ladder to place it on top of the glass, about 8'. Most of the time you can get the crane operator to place it on top the glass for you. Or at least get another driver to help you.grusco Thanks this. -
Just what I want to do....climb a ladder with a tarp.....no thank you!
Evil_E Thanks this. -
Oh ya, and don't forget there are two of them. One on the front and one on the back.
-
That is two reasons I would rather tarp a lumber load....lol -
I like tarping so much I tarp my trailer when it's empty and do it for free.
I'll say it for you Jim, #### side kit Sissy. -
