and they were inspecting on my route last week. I was not going to take the chance!

Just kidding... who was all set to give me a reaming?

I was going to grab one of the loose ones laying around the yard and slap it on. But they all had huge holes. I figured it would take me a while to punch new holes on the other end.

We have a repair shop two miles down the road and the guy had a new one on in less time than it took me to back around the utility pole and up to the door!

Nah, I thought you were one of them highly regarded drivers whom could mandate whether or not you were to pull a load

I have them stacked like napkins in a dispenser on my trailer. If one gets sucked off there is another one there already hanging to take its place.

I just cant stop backing into curbs at the truck stops. YES, that means I actually back in LOL :biggrin_25526:

Every time I have picked up a trailer with a missing mudflap, the rail was missing too. Kinda hard to hook up a new mudflap when there is nothing to hook it to. Just seems to be my luck with this issue- the drivers I work with aren't content to just rip off the mudflap, they gotta take some metal at the same time.

That's actually not a bad idea. Trying to keep flaps on a dump truck is a constant pain in the ###.

we always cut off 2 inches of mud flap and hung it by 3 links of chain.

That way the mud flap isn't so rigid and you don't loose them so often.

I see mostly dump trucks with flaps missing quite often.. I wonder how many actually get stopped.. Then I see a few where the flaps are only about 10 inches long so they don't rip them off.. Doesn't anyone use the mirrors anymore?

well at least dump trucks are off road vehicles. Losing mudflaps in the pit or jobsite is a given
considering mudflap is dragging on the ground as u pop it ahead to empty out
