This was a lot of fun, 6 hours. First it took them an hour and a half to get started. Then an hour to decide how to do it. I wish I had a photo of what was underneath all of these tarps. On the front deck I had two wood crates of glass covered with my piece tarp.:biggrin_255:
I had the front "A" frames set up with crated glass on them that had to be loaded twice because the couldn't find all of it.
Under the lumber tarp I have 3 large racks in the front loaded from the rear. Behind that I have six smaller racks, 3 on each side loaded from the side. I had to pull outside twice to get these on. Behind the racks I have more crates of glass.

And it all weighed out OK!

6 hours for $25.00 tarp pay. Hum thats stll $4 more an hour than doing nothing.

No I came in from OH on 76. We haul a lot of glass out of Carlisle PA so that's probably where they were coming from.

I like your attitude! Even when we only got $10 for tarping steel tarps...I realized that I had no other way that I could make an extra $10, so I was happy to tarp anything. Now that it is $25, I am disappointed when I get a no tarp load...lol
Looks like you did a good job on it!

Tarping to a flatbed driver is like painting for an artist. Like I say a tarp job on the trailer speaks volumes about the man behind the wheel. Sweet job, looks good.

Stopped off at the Maverick terminal in Laurinburg NC yesterday to get few items fixed on the truck. While I was there they decided I needed a new tarp on the trailer I was pulling. This is the first new DGL tarp I have ever seen. Very glad to have it.
Maverick should let the drivers know they are replacing equipment and understand the need. This is one area they could really work on, Communication. A lot of drivers are quite frustrated about the condition of these tarps. I hope this is a sign of things to come but we will just have to wait and see.

I must agree that communication is an issue. The biggest one (or close second biggest) is getting your truck fixed and the only way you know it's done is by monitoring the yard to see if it's out of the shop yet. Multiple repairs? Better check before you leave to make sure each issue was addressed. Maybe I'm picky, but I like knowing what was actually addressed and the action taken. Most repairs I have been in for took multiple visits to get repaired properly (how hard can it possibly be to utilize a little quality assurance?). I despise not having feedback. It's disrespectful to the drivers.

Using the excuse of that being the way it is everywhere is a cop out for substandard performance. There's nothing "maverick" about that. Case in point is the trailer ABS. Many drivers I have spoken to have disabled the trailer light and given up on the repair because they know they'll just lose drive time for a problem that has about a 10% chance of actually getting fixed. My current trailer has been "repaired" twice now and neither time was any progress made on it. Yet, the shop insisted they found the problem and the repair is complete. Was it a blatant lie, ignorance, or incompetence? None of the three options are encouraging.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy my job, this is just one of my pet peeves. Maverick is not unique in this situation. The problem is all too common.

Rants over. Sorry for the hijack.

To your point Sparkn. I had my AC fixed on Thr at Maverick in NC on my way to south Florida. Worked great on the way down. Truck sat over the weekend. I unloaded this morning got ready to take off and no AC. Drove most the day with only my shorts on.
