Intresting, I actually called and inquired about hiring from here and they said they did. Maybe the recruiter I spoke to was mistaken?

My hurdle was the recent OTR experience, been off the road for a few years, but planned on keeping them in mind down the road. Maybe I'll call again tomorrow and re-check. I'll post my findings here. Thanks Pete.

Like pete said speak to marsha she'd know for sure. As for the recent otr yeah they are very picky on that. Not sure how that reactivate program works but you might ask about it. I know it's for drivers in that situation.

I picked up in dallas yesterday delivering at fort riley in kansas now. Of course address was wrong, directions from the gate guard were wrong. Spent 30 minutes wandering around an army base before finally finding someone who could help me find the right building. Headed to wichita for in the morning pick up after I'm done here deliver it in indiana on sunday.

Sounds like you might actually be able to complete a lease-purchase at ACT. Good info, thanks.

I'll definitely have to keep this company in mind for the future.

MNdriver must be running hard! Another week in the books another check in the bank. I'll just put the numbers on this one maybe I'll figure out a better way soon. This week I ran 335 empty miles, 2387 loaded miles for $3940.62 gross. After fuel all deductions and my .07 per mile maintenance fund with holding my part was $1313.13 lol interesting number!

Yes, my biggest week yet. 3400 miles since monday

I also was working on editing some pictures I took of my senior for her graduation announcements.

That had a little more priority.

Looks like I will be there for orientation the 14th. Nervous and stoked at the same time.

Congrats to you both my niece graduates the 18th so I'll be home a few days that weekend myself. That's a proud day in a teens life and I'm sure it is for a parent a well. I still got quite a few years before mine gets there. And a hell of a good week to go with it.

Drifter I was the same way. Been burned by the recruiter bs already but this was a new experience. Just make sure you are doing it for the right reasons. Going fast and being home every weekend won't cut it in this game. If your coming in with the expectation to make about what you would as a company driver and get a truck at the same time you're good. I don't like to be negative but even the best plan will fail without hard work and dedication.

Nice week Kujo. $1300 after expenses for 2700 miles sounds pretty good. How do they calculate miles at ACT? Kind of curious how many actual miles you ran?

Actually, it's not all that great really.

If you earn $15,600 for the quarter, you'd have to pay $2074 in taxes. That's about $172 in self-employment taxes. Plus another 10% or $130 federal, plus another 5% or $65 in state.

That's $365 less or about $940 per week net after taxes or $3760 per month.

Plus you still need to pay for health insurance. $1500 is what I was quoted for me.

I have about $2200 in monthly living expense for a house and such to include all utilities and food costs.

Gives you $60 per month in the black to live on while on the road by my calculations.
