yes anything to make them work harder will deter them, if they cant do it quietly they will move to easier prey. nra stickers work as well, a dog barking, anything that looks like a camera, etc

First rule of savingyour fuel...never fuel up at night.
Thieves like to watch the trucks at the islands that fuel then go park.
They try to park next to you and when you head in for a shower, eat, or whatever...
Locking caps usually work. The thieves just go to an unlocked truck. Lot's easier.
The anti siphon devices usually are not screens, just a metal insert that blocks a larger hose from being inserted. But a 3/8 hose will fit in the middle.
If they use an electric pump, they can suck you dry and you'll never hear it.

I had this happen to me one night in northern new mexico. Didnt hear him as the truck was idling with the AC on trying to keep my wife happy. If I ever catch somebody doing this to me or someone else, they better be able to run good and fast as they wont be running much more if I catch up to them.

I actually thought of that the first time so every since it's been a part of my pre and post trip inspections so that ruled it out this time.

When a company was footing the fuel bill I never put much thought into it but I know now just how devastating just a single tank worth of fuel being stolen could be. And since this happened a second time it's also made me start thinking about where I park and who I park next to. I mean let's face it a company driver doesn't have much to gain stealing fuel.
