What the hell does safety have to do with bodily functions anyway. I would have asked if there was a safety issue then tell them end of story...

The more I learn the less I know. I get it that we all have to pay our dues, no complaints, also that there is a lot for the company to worry about with new drivers. I just want to start with a company that won't bankrupt me in my first year and will make sure that I have the right knowledge to haul whatever they give me.

I went to work for Werner right out of school in 2010. I could agree with a few of the complaints made here. My trainers (3) 2 of which were horrible.
BUT!! I was given a BRAND new truck and reasonable miles. I always felt that I had a reason to be disappointed with something, but if I thought about it a bit I could find something to be happy about. I think this business is NOT anything great when you first start. If you have a family, I would seriously think this over. I only stayed for 6 months and it was too much for my kids and I. But now the last one is off to college, and I may come back. I would consider Werner, but I will check some other places too. I can say MOST companies that take you brand new out of school, all have some issues. It is the nature or the job. It is how you look at life whether you will be happy or not. The life is not easy.
Good luck! -
Well, I've been with Werner now for a year and so far I have no regrets. I've been an O/O since June and it's working out quite well. I'm just debating if I want to become a trainer next year or not. I just need to talk to more ex-trainers and current trainers and weigh the pros and cons. Any thoughts are welcome.

I talked to my cousin yesterday he been with Werner less than a year and he's making dam good money. Family Dollar account Regional from South Carolina to New Jersey. 2000+ miles a week.

Family Dollar Did you ask all the details? Good Money yes, But You must unload trailer at every stop1, there is not a lift gate YOU must climb in2. load isn't carted and to unload you muts setup conveyer to unload3, most drivers I know that have done Family Dollar gets HURT from minor strains/sprains to BROKEN Bones. A bit more pay yes but when you count the cost unless you are in your 20s don't try it if you are north of virgina it is a conditioning thing.

There's proper ways and procedures in every thing you do that can, should, and will prevent you from getting hurt. So you have to do some manual Labor OH WELL I've watched drivers unload trucks for family dollar when my sister managed a store and all the boxes were light. This may be a little time consuming but some people don't mind the workout. If a guy that's 22 5'7 maybe 150 can do this than any man can.
