Hello everyone, just wanted to say hi and thank you all for the good read that I have seen in here. I was skeptical at first about going with stevens, but they seemed to have the better references for school and such. I think the deciding factor was reading TLeahearts and Smokrs posts and threads. Ive seen the reality and am by far not going into this with lofty ideas lol. Been hawking these forums for about 2 months now, went and met the recruiter for careers worldwide last month and have a go date of the 21st of may.....Dallas here I come by way of a small stopover in keensburg CO. Looking forward to getting to know ya'll and thanks again

how stupid does a driver have to be to ruin a whole load of berries, by not setting the refer to the correct temperature? an Owner Op at that... Nice phone call today from dallas... my response, reactive, won't fix stupid.
Also goes to show just how much some drivers pay attention to that macro 36, two temp calls a day....
Now back to my time off. -
Well I traded my load bound for San Antonio last night for a load going to Plainview. Drop and hook, then up to Cactus to pick up a meat load.
Wonder of wonders! Load was ready when I arrived, so hooked and booked as the ol' saying goes.
Stopped in Hooker, OK tonight. Don't have to push on this load. It's due tuesday 0600 in NJ. Only 1600 miles left to go.
I'm suppose to be in Dallas by midnight wednesday, when the ol' med card fairy will begin haunting me.
Good thing I have my own two year card.
I know they plan to repower me monday morning so I can get back, but we all know how that will go!
Seems all the DMs do anymore is repower loads. There is such a push from upstairs that no one has time to manage...just repower, repower, repower.
I'm not complaining. I like the miles.
I'll get to Dallas eventually...then back to the left coast. -
Hey Emul, I will be hitting the yard sometime Wed evening after I deliver in Ft Worth. My med card is up to. Hope to catch you there.
Anybody else hittin the yard around then? -
Look for the old guy with the handlebar mustache....if you want a preview, look on the new MPG poster around the offices.
See you there. -
well that explains why i got the phone call on my time off today too lol

Wouldn't say a lot, but we do haul a lot of OJ out of there. Hometime might be hard to though, so I've heard. But then, I've heard a lot, too. LOL
And hi and welcome to you too Crazy Aardvark.
Maybe I should talk to someone about a recruitment bonus? LMAO
As for advice, hah. Just ask questions from more than one source and consider the sources. Go into it expecting problems and trouble and little face time with family and you shouldn't be too disappointed.
I still love it.
On my way to Austin for a Wednesday at Whole Foods. Ugh. Not due for yard time so I don't think I'll be called there. Good miles so far this month, absolute horrible mileage with heavy loads into and back out of WA though. And I really need to get my MPG up. I'm doing 5.9 right now. This new truck is hard to get any MPG out of, especially with heavy loads and mostly mountains en route.
Did Snowqualmie last week for the first time, and now I get to do Soldier Pass first time tomorrow. Looks like a scenic drive! WA and OR are as pretty as I thought they'd be, but I only wish I had a lighter load.
As for the accidental strawberry daquiri mix, everyone can make a mistake, but that one is a doozy! Obviously faked his checks. That's what the checks are meant to prevent. If he'd done the first one at least, he'd have saved them maybe. Idiot. -
Im leaving now for the airport for orientation. So I'll probably see ya there.
-
cool man, hope to see you there

Sitting outside St Louis tonight. Haven't been pushing. Set cruise at 58. Been averaging 8.5mpg. (which amazes me since I'm 79,500 with a quarter tank)
Tomorrow, I'll end up in Wheeling, WV. Not a great place to look for a repower monday morning, so I suspect I'll be delivering this load tuesday morning and listening to everyone panic.
C'est la vie!
