That's called obstructing traffic. I'd just sit back and dial 911.
Thank you, have the day you deserve. -
Hos & speeding violations; Do the crime - do the time. That was the term I grew up hearing, so I chose to do it right from the beginning. That is not to say I've not received any trumped up tickets. I have, some I've chosen to spend money fighting in court and won, although I might have spent a grand to ensure my license remained clean I also wrote the expense off in my taxes being an OTR driver. Filed under legal expenses.
When I drove for the US DOT I made alot of friends in key positions of which have gained stature in their respective offices. Giving this reference, some of those trumped up citations were handled via some high up official causing a world of legal problems for the officer who wrote the citation, oops. Something I tell LEO's when having conversations while eating in coffee shops, "Not all truck drivers are JUST truck drivers, so be sure the ticket IS the truth.
if you own a decent GPS unit of which you can download info to a laptop or desktop that has the corresponding program, you can show the court your actual speed and location if the ticket/ citation is bogus (wrong).
Good luck. -
Actually, that's what they're teaching in school now. Slow down and increase your following distance until tailgaters come around you or back off.DrtyDiesel, LaBubba and drvrtech77 Thank this.

All one has to do is look at the jersey barriers in many of these constructions zones to get a clear explanation of why you must slow down.
Look how many have been knocked around and otherwise damaged.
Yesterday, on 440 in Nashville, a Roadway driver had to come to a complete stop because he had a barrel lodged under the front bumper of his rig. Myself and a few other trucks slowed way down, but the idjits in the four-wheelers just kept on flyin' by. And if you've been through there, you know the lanes aren't very wide with the barriers up....that RW driver was taking his life in his hands.
Yeah...I'm doin' the speed limit. Don't like it? Leave earlier. And quit flirting with the fuel clerk who has no interest in you anyway.LaBubba Thanks this. -
There is being safer and then just being a plain prick and making the situation worse.
Slowing down and impeding the flow of traffic is a misdemeanor in MN that needs more enforcement, not to be taught as a driving technique.
MN statute 169.15

I want to link the information as well as the video.

MNdriver...I certainly understand the concept of obstruction, but what is deemed to be obstruction?
Speed limits are just that....limits, not requirements. So what is obstruction....5 below....10? Or is it figured on a percentage?
I agree with the concept. But enforcement is, as it is in so many things, up to debate. -
When people are backing up in a line of traffic over a 10th of a mile. I'd consider that impeding traffic.
If you are purposely slowing down because some jack wagon is tailgating you, that is not only impeding, it's also (IMO) passive aggressive road rage in my book.48Packard Thanks this. -
When someone rides my DOT bumper, I'm going to continue to slow in the interest of safety until they either pass, or back off. Under the statute, I'm exempt since my reduced speed is necessary for safe operation. So back off and stay off my ***drvrtech77, Pedigreed Bulldog, VenueChanger and 1 other person Thank this.
