Just got into Layton from Denver this morning.

I had a delivery in Aurora, CO yesterday and afterwards, I was supposed to take a load of beer from Golden to Portland.

Well, my 587 threw yet another amber check engine light and derates the engine en route to Aurora. I make delivery, then per breakdown's orders, off to Peterbilt shop I go. This is the 8th shop I've had to take that 587 to in 6 weeks. Hell, it was the second time the truck had been to the Pete shop in Denver.

Was told by DM to grab some gear out of my truck and wait for another May driver to come and give me a lift to Layton where I would pick up a 2010 387. So here I sit at Layton. Tomorrow I am to repower a load that delivers in Denver, thus allowing me to transfer all my belongings out of the 587 into the "new" 387.

That constantly broken, headache of a 587 is gone forever!!! Or at least it's someone else's headache for now.

And that makes me happier than words can describe. I hope they let me keep this one for a while... it's only got 350,000 miles, so hopefully they don't sell it off soon.

That's what they told me when I checked it in: It'd be Monday, at least. I was afraid at first I'd be back in a hotel while they worked on it, but thankfully that's no longer the case. Not my problem anymore.. don't care, either, as long as it's still there on Monday morning so I can get all my gear out of it... FOR GOOD.

No more Super 8 or Ramada for me for a while, hopefully.
