Happened to me off 95 in lower SC. Got 100 gallons while I was crashed out with the a/c going after another full day of running my hours out. Found out later another one of our guys had some stolen at the same place just he didn't lose as much.

Certainly changed the way I look at parking and who I park next to. Immediately bought some locking caps and got reimbursed for them.

Sure wish I'd woke up and caught whoever it was. Even though it isn't my truck I run it and treat it like it is and even though I shouldn't I take #### like that personally lol

I bought my pair of locking caps at my Volvo dealer last October for $128.70 that had the good rubber key lock covers. Make sure that you have a good cover over that key lock or dirt will jamb it up.

As fuel goes higher and higher, fuel theft is going to happen more and more for those desperate to stay in business or out to make an easy buck.

Nothing will stop a determined thief I've heard of holes being drilled in the bottom of fuel tanks before.

A quiet electric pump can take more than 4 gallons per minute with a 3/8 hose.
25 minutes and your tank is empty...and you sleep thru it all.

I've actually witness tanker drivers with custom hook ups stealing their company's fuel out of the tanker. At first, I couldn't figure out what they were doing until I seen them pumping the fuel into their personal vehicles.
Happened just south of Houston, TX. at a truck stop sitting for the weekend.
Some things, I'd rather not see.
