If you live in the right areas TMC can be a pretty good place to work. If you are anywhere around the edges of their hiring area, you may want to keep looking. I worked for them for a long time. And the first 10 or 12 years, i really liked it there. The last 5, not so much. It got to where I just couldn't get home anywhere near the 46 out of 52 week ends like they advertise. But I know of guys in areas like Ind., Oh., Ill. etc, who have been there for years, and not missed a weekend. After they got done with orientation and training anyway. And you will be told not to walk on the grass in Des Moines terminal. They are serious about that. But there are sidewalks everywhere, so no need to walk on the grass anyway. All in all, they have a lot of rules....and if you can live with them you can make pretty decent money and be home fairly often as well.

They are a good company. A veteran driver with a clean record could probably do better. But like Mr. Ed said, a lot of it has to do with your area. I drive for them and I am pretty happy with them, but I plan to move on when the right opportunity comes along.

K thank how long u drove for them

5 months. I meet truckers every week that drive for bad companies and never make money or get home. I get home every weekend myself, and make a decent check. I cant complain about that.

I sent an application to TMC last week and after 2 business days called to check on status (as instructed on their web site). Recruiter looked up my info and said "they rejected your application". I ask why and he said "I dunno, they just hired other applicants". Okay, I had hoped to learn a little more than that.
fyi: I'm just finishing CDL training at a school from which they recruit. I have perfect driving and other records. I'm older than most truckers and that may have played a part but legally they could never say so.truckerim2055 Thanks this.
