It's a church thing.

I find the "blue laws" amusing when I run across them or hear about them.
-
ND is 20-40 years behind the times. best thing about Fargo. Seeing it in the rear view mirror when I moved out of there.
-
I remember that law, we had to vote on it. Before the vote, they couldn't even be open on Sundays. On Sundays ND was a ghost state, only thing open was restaurants. The law just barely passed.
What ever happened to separation of church and state. -
It's ND. What do you expect?
-
In Indiana there is no alcohol sales on Sundays. Michigan has no issue on this. The state line is loaded with party stores doing a nice Sunday business collecting tax revenue that could have gone to Indiana if the politicos would remove their heads from their rears. Michigan also has a deposit of 5 or 10 cents on the cans and bottles. Buying a few cases can get a lil bit pricey by the time you spend the gas to get there and back to get your deposit back.
You just gotta love the dark ages no?!
-
Do you feel better about yourselves now?
-
For the record. There is no such law that seperates church and state. The law was and still is. That Congress shall not establish a state run church. This law is one of the mostbiggest misinterped laws out there. As for the not opening until noon. It isnt all that bad. You should shop before Sunday.
jbatmick Thanks this. -
Reminds me of the Squidbillies episode "A Sober Sunday"
"Seems to me if you bought your Sunday beer on Saturday night, this becomes a complete non-issue!"
