well thats what I was thinking, I have heard knight has changed alot in the past few years..... only thing is I don't have my hazmat. I can go get it on monday, does anyone know the wait time on hazmat endorsement? also I am thinking about doing the 14 day on 7 day off thing..... I really dont have any bills or a house... kinda just stay with my friends when I am off. If I have 2 years experience driving, do I have to go back out with a trainer if I want to learn flatbed? I have done van and reefer... thanks by the way.

I just got my hazmat again and you take the test at your dmv office then submit the paperwork and finger prints to the Homeland Security. I got my letter of approval from them in 3 weeks.

Roehlis the better choice. No hazmat needed as we don"t haul hazmat loads. I'm on 14/7 and it works nice for me. Only hassle is taking your stuff out of truck for your time off then reloading when you come back. I do know Phoenix is hiring for the 14/7. You should only have to do the cargo securement training if your driving exprience is recent.

hey thanks for info LLL, do you run flatbed for Roehl or do you do the van or reefer? also I live here in phoenix, how does the 14/7 run for you? if you dont mind me asking what is your average weekly miles and is your pay decent? is there anythings you hate about the company? or is Roehl a pretty decent company..... do they have a no idle policy? when we are on our break can we watch our tv without it killing the batteries.... any info you can give me I would appreciate it... did previous 8 months with Knight a few years back and am scheduled to restart orientation with them on tuesday however I don't know if I want to repeat history and go back with Knight..... thanks for any info you give.

I'm pretty sure you'll have to go out with a local trainer for a few days after securement training.

I used to work for knight for about one year till they fired me because i got stuck in the sand at one of their georgia pacific plants..i did dry box but the guys that ran the refers, some say they make ok money but they have a lot of stops n you sit for a while at costco n other distribution centers...they use electronic logging and depending which terminal you are based at,some of their safety people can be ### holes
