Indiana just got meaner. last time i ran their toll road short on cash they gave me an envolope and 8 days. no problem i paid them their money and things were hunky dorey.

yesterday i run I80 cross indiana short on cash cuz my trip thru cananda wiped me out on cash with thier tolls... they gave me an envolope and the kindly officer gave me a citation for $135.50 ... plus the orginal 19 i owe for the toll. :biggrin_25510:

so if ur goin across indiana make sure you got the exact change for the toll road or else you can enjoy the same wonderful service i am enjoying:biggrin_25516:

Just wait, they have plans to increase the tolls too. It was privatized during the last year.

things like this really tick me off

its not like you REFUSED to pay, you didnt have the money

though they will quote that you are not allowed on their toll road unless you have payment

it just stinks of pure meaness to me
    totally unnecessary

but the state does as the state pleases

in case anyone thinks mabe my additude contributed to the ammount, i assure you i couldnt of been any nicer to my own grandmother then i was to the officer, and the court officer who i had to call and find out how much i owed.

and i understand i should have alot of money on me, this was the load goin home and im usualy on nickles and dimes by then, however in this instance i was -489 in the bank from overdrafting so i coudlnt even scrounge up my debit card to get money.

also im a new driver and im usin my paychecks to pay off credit card bills so im still learning money managment too, on the road im doin alright but ive got some tips and tricks to do better. however it doesnt change that i now owe $154.50 for driving across I80 in indiana. :biggrin_2557: i got 30 days to pay and im gonna wait til next time im home to send it in because im nearly wiped out on cash right now and i go back out monday.. i gotta have money to go back out with

I like my company. We have EZ Pass except for two states and one of them is IN. In a couple of months they will be on our EZ pass so all I have a toll card for is the buckeye.:biggrin_25514:

We have EZPass,Indiana card, and the buckeye card. Indiana claims to have their Izoom system up and running by the end of the year.

i had a thought the other day

    are tolls right or wrong?

if they are right, then all roads should have a toll and each municipality should be able to charge whatever they want, whats to stop them? its their road, they need the money, and its a right thing to do

but if they are wrong, then there should be NO TOLLS, (maybe exceptions for bridges and tunnels until they are paid off) but endless tolls for roads that have been built is not right, and its no more than the state exercising its authority to tax people no matter what the cost, and its a wrong thing to do

    just a though

I just wish they would toll all roads. In any other industry when your expenses goes up, you charge more. The trucking industry is the only one I know of that doesn't adjust for increased expenses.

I'm a company driver, I don't have to pay for anything out of pocket for the truck or company. I have Ez-Pass, toll cards for IN and OH. The only money I carry on me is to pay for food. Any company driver that pay for the truck and waits weeks to be paid for company expenses is crazy. They are just using your money to make them money.

Too tall, Can I relate to your plight.:biggrin_25514: This past summer, I had routing that put me thru Canada, IN, and OH. Big cash outlays got BIGGER, 'cause my OH card was expired. I've also run into needing a jump-start where they wouldn't accept com-data checks. Glad I had enuf available credit on good ole Visa. Gettin tired of advances, and the unrealistic hoops and hurdles associated with reimbursement of my own #### money.

Say roughly 1500 drivers loaning Roehl an ongoing 30-50 bucks a week??
    Who does this work for?:biggrin_2555:
