Delivered to farmington, mo a few weeks back and a daycab with farmtags pulled in just ahead of me, I check in and then proceed to help him fold his tarp he took off his hay load and was amazed I offered to help without even thinking about it, we talked about an hour or so and told me the place where we were delivering to bought all his hay he could grow. He told me he has 1800 acres up by I70 and offered me a job, I told him thanks and said I just bought my first truck and said I'd keep it in the memory bank.

Yep most flatbedders are real cool guy and gals. Most will help you. We have helped some guys too especially in bad weather and high winds.

Few months ago I helped a guy out tarping his load in Cheyenne at the TA, it was blowing about 40-50mph and we had a heck of a time getting his old and ragged tarps on.
Afterwards he gave me 30 bucks even though I told him he didn't need to, I was just hoping it'd be paid forward to me at some point.

Had a guy put out an offer over the CB, $50 to help him out, while sittin in a t/s soon after I went solo. After many many times no one had answered, so I asked him what he wanted. Said he needed help with his tarps. So I went over to help him out. Never expected the money, but I did get paid. He was having issues and unable to properly secure the tarps...

I like flatbedding, and will help other guys quite frequently. But if a guy helps me, I never ever let them climb on my load or trailer. If you help me, please stay on the ground. I know of an owner operator several years back, that got sued because a guy helping him out fell from his load. I appreciate the help, but can't take that kinda risk.
