Appreciate the kind words and that is the type of person I am. With that said, I know it isnt about me but just wanted to let people know that Christianity does have some bad apples but that is not gods teachings.

It was nice considering usually the thread would be close to getting "locked" any other night

 

I find it a little ironic that this whole thread with conversations about religion and God was started by a guy named 2hellandback.

yeah, but the answer to your question just happened to have a religious reason. so you stirred up a hornets nest.
I was 18 when the Sunday opening law was voted on. And all the churches and religious groups were totally against it. it squeaked thru with a 54% majority iirc.

Funny thing is, Jesus himself told his followers not to be involved in the political affairs of the world - since his kingdom was not part of the world. So true Christians are going against Jesus' teachings by being politically active and voting. The blatant hypocrisy is a big reason that I shy away from organized religion.

 

waiting the other day for my meat load i got out to talk to other trans am drivers expecting typical truck driver bs i was shocked when the 4 of us were talking about our faith in GOD and thankful for our lives and how we all missed church My skin crawls cause i dont get to church another church tyoe and i chatted on the cb across 80 last nite after i noticed his bible verses on his truck
