I am very happy to say I have only one week left with this co. I started as a brand new driver with them and had no idea what I was getting into.I have had an over all good experience with them. I went to their training school in carlise Pa. The school was tough but I learned alot. Although about 90% of the school is classroom and testing. After graduating the first part I went out on the road for two weeks with a trainer. I got lucky and had a decent trainer who had about 10 years under his belt. Its kind of hit or miss with the trainers some of them are clowns who shouldn't be driving themselves. After training I went back to Pa for final testing. Again very difficult but I passed. Then I went on to dedicated with walmart out of gordonsville. That's when things went down hill. Most of the dispatchers have terrible additudes and worse people skills. The miles I was promised weren't even close and the home time I was promised was not accurate either.I have been lucky to bring home 500 bucks a week. Not worth the amount of time spent away from the family or for putting up with Walmart and their B-S. But I have managed to do a year there and was able to find a good well paying semi local job. So Im thankful for the experience but I am more than happy to get away from SNI

Fredneck I can relate to the experience, I went the same route 10 years ago with SNI on a dedicated Walmart account. Although I enjoyed trucking where some of these stores were located was beyond me. One that comes to mind is Vera West Virginia

I think many times we have people who come in with great expectations.

But Schneider is an OTR company. Some of the dedicated guys make excellent money. But that's because the customer ponies up and/or requires it.

No way in hell would I touch a wal Mart dedicated account. Not near enough money involved.

Yeah I mean when I came into the business I wasn't planning on getting rich and I understood that I would be on the road all the time. But I did want to make a decent living and be fairly compensated for my time out. I guess hind site is 20-20 cause thinking about it now it makes sense that I didn't get paid well. It is after all Walmart. Also I forgot to mention how terrible their equipment is. The mattress in the bunk looks like the were used by the homeless then sold to sni. Had to buy my own air mattress just to feel clean. And since I've been there I don'tthink I've driven a truck that has a whole bumper on it. I just try to hide when im driving the truck I don't wanna be seen in it. But hey we all gotta start somewhere.

Look for a manufacturing company that hauls their own product. Most of the truckload common or contract carriers have the rates cut soo low, they can't or won't pay their drivers a living wage..Too much cut throat---

I worked the Walmart dedicated SNI account in Henderson, NC for a year or so. Gville is a giant mess and always has been. Some drivers are quite happy running nights and doing the Walmart stuff. I hated it. It wasn't the job or the money I made, it was the constant nights that I couldn't take. However, I was told right up front that that was going to be the case and decided to give it a shot so the fault was mine. The trucks are a disaster. Junk on the outside and nasty on the inside. Its what happens when OTR trucks are dumped on an account at the end of their life because the trucks will be back to the home everyday to get fixed. Also, when drivers are not responsible for anything including cleanliness they don't care about the vehicle.
