Occasionally my 09 670 would take a hit (from the road) that sounded like someone had hit the dash with a battering ram, really kind of unnerving.

That truck weighed 18,900 with 3/4 fuel and most of my stuff in it. With 2-150 gallon tanks I saw 11,840 on the steers several times.

Only Cascadias with DD15's are the flatbed ones. And more than likely we are going to ISX's next year because they are more fuel efficent.

IMO Save your pennies and buy a truck outside of Swift. Lease it on there and if it doesn't work, take your toys and go elsewhere.

You LIKE DD15s? Bleh. They're definitely not known for mileage.

Not so Tom, only the newer Swift Cascadias have the Cummins, the older van trucks have the DD15. I can show you several in the Phoenix yard on any given day.

Spent most of the day at the Phoenix terminal with mixed results. I was suprised to find that I didn't care for either of the new KWs available. The only 2012 Volvo I can find was a mentors truck with 130,000 miles on it...no thanks. I did find a low mileage Cascadia in Florida that I'm waiting on photos of.

I like the Volvo but have never been in one, all my time is on the cascadia. Like the truck and every thing fits good. The KW's seem to tight inside. Pete's look nice. But-----

Don't hold the milage against it ... that's enough to get all the issues shaken out.

I picked up my Prostar with 175K and she's been a workhorse. 224K paid miles over the last 21 months.

I have to admit, I would have also passed. If it would have been a solo driver, then I would have thought different, but a Mentor, no idea how the student was driving it, and if a Mentor, why was it turned in. A one year old truck with only 130K, and a mentor, why or why, was it down alot. Keep in mind, them darn Volvo's have and still have so many issues as far as electrical.

Steve, sorry that you did not like the KW. Good luck on the Cascadia
