I hear ya, got rid of my F150 a couple of years ago, and I regret it all the time. But, couldnt rationalize having two vehicles sitting in the yard, when I am never allowed to be home.
-
I can park in my yard now, but before I went at 0530 to board then went home and option5'd once an hour out had the website pulled up. I've also mentioned in that survey a coupe months back to get done stuff going got smart phones and more information on the site. seems they may be taking the smarty phone idea seriously since they are now asking who has 1

Yeah, I think getting home 3 days early due to lack of freight and still no load to leave out at 0930 ET has made me make the decision to start coming home more and register my F250. I've got time to eat up and am thinking it may be worth goin out 2 weeks and home 3 days so I can grab some work while home and atleast run the truck enough it doesn't dry rot belts, tires, and hoses. The extra money won't be bad either

Yeah, that is what I do, get to the truck between 0600 and 0700..load it up get on the board, then go home and wait, checking op5 all the time. But I usually get so bored, that I want to take a nap and worry about missing my load if I dont keep checking to see if I have a load. When I first started working here, I could call the afternoon before, and talk to my fleet manager, and she would let me know what load I was getting the next day, and assign me to it, putting me back on duty a day early, saving one of my days off, and not requiring me to have to be there at 730, unless of course the load required me to leave out first thing in the moringing. I loved doing it that way. But after that every fleet manager I had wouldnt let me do it that way, said I had to be at the truck at 730 and sign in.

Bring on the border I've been dispatched at 2145 before

2 weeks out, you are only allowed to take 2 days off....LOL.

I suppose this is true if you haven't banked home time, seeing as I'm still owed 17 days I think I can do 2 out 3 days home for about my next 17 times home or until mid-december. You should read the handbook and realize the only limit on home time is;
Must be out 7 days to hilite if 48 state, anytime once returned to truck if regional.
You get 1 day earned per week worked and ANY DAYS NOT USED CAN BE BANKED(check driver dashboard online for days out then (days out)/(7)=days accrued that you can use
Lastly, if you choose to take more then 9 days at once you may be required to turn your truck in to the nearest terminal. IF you are million miler they will do their best to make sure you are reassigned the same truck -
Yeah, I know..I was just ragging on ya. I have never personally understood the rational of only allowing 1 day off for 7 days out. I dont normally have too many banked days because after I stay out for a month or longer I will usually take off as much time as I can to spend with the family. The only time I have extra banked days is for the couple of months after taking paid vacation as they dont count as earned days off. I would love to work 3 weeks and have a guaranteed 4 or 5 days off. But when you dont have earned days off you cant do that, if you stay out 3 weeks, then you only get 3 days off, unless they feel like being nice.Last edited: May 8, 2012
