Your husband should be aware that the type of CPAP machine we use in trucking must have a "card reader" so that his use of it can be tracked.
It's not a "carrier issue" - its an insurance issue. The insurance companies decide who drives, and who flips burgers.

one of the reason why I like schneider. In front on CPAP. will give a loaner until insurance kicks in then its NO cost AT ALL to the driver for the machine AND supplies as needed.
My machine was newer anyway when I was hired in , so it already had 6 months of data when I was hired on. Giving the admin company SNI works with on cpap , they saw that i was no longer getting the air I needed. I had quit smoking after getting the machine and the resultant weight gain forced an increase in pressure. Sleeping better than when I first started using it !!.slomocopshow Thanks this. -
A much worse scenario would be a post saying:
I also have a CPAP and drive on a 1 year card because of it. No blood pressure problems or diabetes. Before I started trucking 5 years ago I hadn't been to a doctor for a routine physical for over 20 years. I view the 1 year card as a forced Drs appointment. Actually I see my family Doc yearly and the company DOT guy about a month later. I schedule the appointment around my birthday. It's a hassle but I don't want to be piloting an 80,000 lb vehicle with any medical problems.
Generals Wife, I didn't mean to come off harsh but I wanted you to think about your husbands sleep health. You are the absolute best person to diagnose it should he ever develop sleep Apnea. As people age the soft tissue in the back of the throat sags and that causes the problem. Its not as much about being overweight as it is about the size of the airway and how much tissue surrounds it. Bottom line if he snores loud enough to wake you up he probably has it.slomocopshow, FatDaddy and general's wife Thank this. -

Thank you to all that understood my concern, like I said I don't know much about these machines or sleep apnea for that matter. But your responses have put me at ease. Now if my husband could clear up the other issues. But that is for another day. Thank you again!! And to all of you....BE SAFE!
FatDaddy Thanks this. -
TransAm has absolutely no problem with my CPAP. During the recruiting processed I was asked about current medical conditions and when I mentioned COSA she immediately asked if it had been officially diagnosed and corrected. Once I told her about the CPAP her response was somewhere in the ballpark of, " Well the intervers will make it easy to use."
