Ok. I don't usually haul peaches. But what should a load of fresh peaches out of Columbia, sc to Detroit pay. Roughly. I was thinkin somewhere around 2800 or so depending on drops. But realistically. Where are the rates at on these things?

it dont matter if it peaches or prunes, what do you normally haul for or what do you want to make the trip. it matters not what they are paying, what will you haul it for??
-
Yeah I feel ya. But I also know that peaches usually pay a bit more due to the fact it's such a short season.

Most rolling ice boxes around here haul for no less than 4.00 per mile.
-
Yeah if I do short Florida moves I can get that. But running uP north not so much. I was way off with my figure. Albeit a fair rate I thought they paid like 3.50 a mile plus because of the short season. As I learned today while at the shipper. They now ship til close to October.

Sounds like my plan for retirement. Get a job making $1,000,000 a day, then work a few days and quit.
