Thank u tip I think I will give Crete a call

Running up on a curb, if that did happen, shouldn't have kept you out. These guys were playing a game with you.
Something about you made them decide you were too much of a hot potato to hire on. Guys I know who've been in this situation were mainly those with medical conditions their prospective companies wanted no part of. Those companies just needed convenient excuses to get rid of those guys after they arrived at orientation but before they were hired on. Sometimes it wasn't even the drivers themselves....it was a spouse or a child. High insurance costs can spook an employer, sure.
I know Crete is a good company. I've worked for Crete and I've worked for SwiftQuit. Crete is much, much better than Swift. You'll make more and be treated a LOT better at Crete. Swifty'll look at you as a resource. Crete will view you as a human being. -
How long did it take you to hit the hole? They only allow you a max of 10 min
Did you touch/tap any barrells? That is an auto fail too.
You did not shift on the tracks did you?
Was you checking your mirrors enough?
I did my test in a long nose pete and was good enough to be trained.
If you want you can call the main number for May and ask to talk to Danny he is the big wig of the trainning. Just tell him how Mike treated you etc.
Danny teased me about me beeing on the training truck so long. I kept making stupid mistakes.
Mike failed me on my solo out test but I finally passed my 3rd time but I went to Oregon. -
I just wanted 2 say that I thought I did everything OK I never hit any curbs I never hit the barrels backing up.Like I said IF I would have hit or jumped a curb I would have automatically failed and would no longer be aloud 2 continue.Like I said I thougt I did everyting OK as such that he didn't say anything while I was driving. When It came time to back up I noticed that I was just a little bit over to the right. I got physically got out of the truck and G.O.A.L. (Got Out And Looked) I then was able 2 see which way I should I be going 2 back up. The back up part was the easiest thing on the test over all. I just centered her right up and in she went right in the hole with a straight shot!!

he will not tell you about an auto fail I messed up with him once I shifted on the tracks right there outside the yard and he had me finish the whole thing then told me that I failed.
-
That is the same thing that happened 2 me.But still I figure that not all road testers are like that.If u make a serious mistake like jumping a curb or doing a u-turn in the middle of traffic etc. I would think that the tester would fail u right then and there and go to the yard IMMEDIATELY. I don't know just a thoght.

like I said before the reason I left them is my dispatcher was not wanting to play by the rules on hometime.
My dispatcher was Amy / the Black chick in Layton. "this is not ment to be derogotory"
I was out for aprox 10 weeks before I got 2 days at home that was only due to my truck breaking down then I was out for aprox 2 more weeks before they got me home again.
Their policy is suppose to be 1 day for each week out max 5 days off at a time. I had to fight like heck to even get the 4 days off. Right after that I said forget it.
Plus My dispatcher called me 3 of theose 4 days off.
I quit answering the phone and when I did answer once a day I got rude with her.
I also was boored out of my mind out there. -
You lasted six months in the trucking industry, I'm sure it was all May's fault.

Better to find out now that the OTR life is not for you then be miserable.
I have not had any time off problems with May at all. But that goes to show you how the experience of one driver can differ from another.
Many times the way one driver is treated by a company versus another has nothing to do with anything the driver did. At May I have found out that if you allow yourself to be treated poorly, they just might treat you that way. But if you stand up to them and don't take their carp they treat you far better. Heck I had to go through 3 people just to get a truck wash but thats the beauty of cell phone technology. I can still roll and make money while I talk to every manager in the company till someone authorizes a truck wash
As far as the driver who failed the drive test goes you must have done something to be shown the door. I can tell you that May needs drivers.
I am busting my butt running frt at May right now. They had 104 loads last Friday out of the Portland area, and only 40 trucks to cover them. I have been bumping 70hrs almost every day since the first week I was out on my last tour.
