Stupid question time, Tarps: What does the third set of wheels on the rear mean to the truck's capabilities and what it can haul?

The last time I saw my Canadian buddy, his trailer had three axles on the trailer. I asked why, and he advised me that in Canada he can pull 120,000 lbs. with that extra axle -- not the 80,000 lbs limit that we have stateside.

So... what's the significance of this third axle here?

(By the way, I agree -- that's one fine looking truck!)

The only tri ax I ever drove was a dump truck. I could haul what a semi hauled in it.

Yup, in Canada, especially in the oilfield where they haul excessive equipment into remote areas they use tri axle trucks and tri axle trailers to increase the legal payload. Its taking a huge toll on our roads, but its legal.

I can't give you a color scheme but I offer a point or two.
It's my understanding that metal flake causes the sun to heat the paint & makes it dull or burn sooner.
I would also think about using a light color on the top so the sun doesn't heat the body as much for cooling considerations.
