TA Has kiosks and you get a receipt that works as your card until you get it.
These are little things that can be handled during your first visit to each different truck stop.
A trainer should fill you in on these, or just ask at the fuel desk if there is a drivers reward program.
These programs will earn you free use of showers, free drink refills (buy a good cup) and usually 1 cent per gallon of fuel in store/ restaurant credit.
Nothing to waste more than a minute onlilsister Thanks this. -

Love's and Wilco/Hess have the cards at the desk too. All I'm missing is AMBEST Not sure why TA/Petro has to be so backasswards and make you wait 4 weeks just so they can issue you a card with your name on it. I didn't even bother with the temporary card, just waited until I got my real card.
What sucks is I'm going to have to order another UltraOne card as the strip on mine is going dead. I don't use it nearly as much as I do Pilot or Love's and neither one of those have given me problems. -
how goes it lilsister? Still keepin on keepin on I hope!

You'll run into a few bad seeds out there but that can be said with in industry you get into. Just act and look like you know what your doing and actually know how to back up a truck and you'll be just fine. BTW what company did you choose to start out with?

Everything is good! Finished school on Friday. Got my license on Monday and now waiting to go to work. Have apps in with several companies, but really trying to get on with something local here at home.

Congrats on your license! Keep us updated on how the job hunt goes...

Well thats good, congratulations to you. Now the fun part, using that shiny new CDL. Local is hard to get for a new driver, but not impossible. Several LTL companies will hire new drivers. Just got to go out and kick in some doors and bedazzle them with BS , i mean let them know what you want, what your looking for and if they can offer it, then talk to them.
