If you team , at first you may be able to get quiet a few miles, but after a couple of weeks, ya'll will be too busy beatin the hell out of each other to drive. I don't care how good people get along, just put em in a small space such as a truck and they'll turn on each other quick. The other person stopping and slammin doors while you're trying to sleep, cell phones going off, music blairring. Farting, you name it.

Its hard to find a good partner... took me 2 or 3 tries, I forget... but finally did. You learn not to slap the brakes, shift hard, slam doors, no loud music or cb or even slowly putting the gas cap down...
We even went as far as wiping the steering wheel, shifter, radio...everything you touch with clorax wipes before we changed drivers.
Its hard but can be done and many do it... just need to respect each other and the space you're in. Many can't do it...

Huh? Lost me on that one... ? -
Driver managment is a company that writes the checks and i have been told that they take an amount out of a employees check to pay for the service that a company has requested. it would say on your paystub somewhere who writes the check like a watermark or a name on the front of the check or stub its self. The amount was very small like maybe a dollar, .50 but its there. not that it matters your still getting payed and thats the important part, i was just wondering thats all.
I did get on at Schneider and I leave for training on Sunday Night, Im ready to get this started and begin this new chapter and career! BE SAFE -
As soon as my WIA funding comes through, I will be going to a (Schneider-Preferred) TDS. This is how I started out--Knowing I wanted to go with SNI and working backwards.
My questions are as follows:
*If* i get accepted at SNI (yes, reading here I've accepted that reality) and I have to go up to Green Bay, what does that entail?
Since they no longer do CDL training, what would I be up there for, besides some kind of company orientation?
How long would this part of the process be?
Do they pay for my bus ticket up there?
What about a motel room while I'm there? Meals?
Am I paid during this time? (Time and child support waits for no man)
How long would I have to go out with a trainer afterwards?
Since the majority of this thread is from '08 are they still pressuring/lying to get team drivers? (don't want) -
Well the first thing is getting your CDL,
the orintation is 3-4 week long in greenbay if that is your closest location.
yes they pay for the bus ticket
motel is payed for and you get a brakefast and lunch payed. dinner is all you, and there is a amount of time you will spend with a trainer/mentor on a truck ( for about 5-8 days) that you will need to cover your own meals.
no they dont pressure teams it is all up to you weather you want to go solo or if you want a team.
I have a friend that is joining me in training and we are going to team together to run hard and make as much money as possible, hes single and no kids, I am married and I have kids so we are ready to run and blast out as many miles a possible but still get home time as well, they have a lot of different programs avalible to every drive depending on what your looking for as you start your carrer.

Thanks Bullseye! Do I get "paid" for that 3-4 weeks in GB?
-
you'll spend several weeks on a trainer truck, not just a few days. Good luck with that , cause it can be pure hell. Just don't forget, 80% of everyone that goes into the trucking scheme, and it is a scheme, a non paying ripoff, quits in less than 6 weeks. You will put 2 weeks into one, with no overtime pay. When you add it up, you wont even be making minimum wage. Don't let these other people on here tell you different, cause it ain't true. And there will be some.

Yes its 400 or 450 a week, cant quite remember what they told me but yes.

I really think that you have anger issues with the people that you might have worked for in the past and taaking it out on other truckers really doesnt help you, how do I know, you keep posting over and over again and raging everytime somone ask a simple queston. Hope you get to feeling better soon!
Rattlebunny and Moe Rhonic Thank this.
